    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject function improver effectively acting upon unidentified clinical syndrome symptoms such as systemic feebleness, fatigue, numbness of limb, shoulder stiffness and fatigue of eyes by combinedly using γ-oryzanol with a central nerve stimulator. SOLUTION: This function improver is obtained by combinedly using (A) γ-oryzanol with (B) a central nerve stimulator as active ingredients. The ingredient A is a generic term of agents included in nonsaponified materials in rice bran oil, having maximum absorbance at 231, 291 and 315 μm and a mixture of two or more kinds of unsaturated terpene alcohol-based ferulic acid esters. The ingredient B is preferably at least one selected from spicy ingredients of (i) ginger, (ii) capsicum and (iii) pepper and (iv) caffeine. This function improver is preferably used as a preparation for oral administration. The daily effective dose is preferably 1-500 mg ingredient A, 5-300 mg ingredient iv, 1 mg-50 g ingredient i, 0.1 mg-2 g ingredient ii and 0.1 mg-2 g ingredient iii.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hair deforming agent composition, comprising a specific organic acid such as a hydroxy-carboxylic acid and a permeation accelerator such as benzyl alcohol, assuming the acidity, excellent in high humidity resistance and capable of providing the hair deformation with high persistent effects without damaging vicious hair. CONSTITUTION:This hair deforming agent composition comprises one or more organic acids selected from DL-pyroglutamic acid, hydroxy-carboxylic acids, dicarboxylic acids and salts thereof and one or two or more permeation accelerators selected from benzyl alcohol, benzyloxyethanol and alkylene glycol monoalkyl ethers expressed by the formula [R is H or methyl; R is 1-5C alkyl; (m) is 1 or 2] and assumes the acidity. The composition preferably contains >=5wt.% organic acids and 1-30wt.% permeation accelerators. Furthermore, the hair deforming agent composition is preferably regulated to pH2.5-6, especially pH3-5. This composition is capable of simply making vicious hair into straight hair without damaging thereof.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled treatment agent containing a specific cysteine derivative and a cationic polymer, having a specific pH range and capable of forming a semipermanent wave to hair by heating the hair coated with the agent and of semipermanently improving the feeling of the hair. CONSTITUTION:The hair-treatment agent contains (A) a cysteine derivative selected from the compounds of formula (R1 is H or 1-3C acyl), e.g. N-acetyl-3- mercaptoalanine and glutathione and (B) a cationic polymer such as quaternary derivative of cellulose ester, copolymer of vinyl pyrrolidone or polylysine and is adjusted to pH 7-9. The amounts of the components A and B are 0.1-5.0wt.% and 0.01-30.0wt.% especially 0.5-3.0wt.% and 0.1-10.0wt.%, respectively. 10-150ml of the agent is applied to the hair at a time and the hair is heated at 40-160 deg.C, preferably 40-80 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A hair deformation treating agent, containing a 3-mercapto-2- hydroxypropyltrialkylammonium salt as a principal ingredient and capable of forming firm waves in the hair at a relatively low temperature in a relatively short time by simple operation. CONSTITUTION:A hair deformation treating agent, containing a compound, expressed by the formula (R1 is 1-12C alkyl; R2 and R3 are alkyl; X is halogen) and having stable and high waving effect, e.g. 3-mercapto-2- hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride, etc., as a principal ingredient and useful as the first solution of a two-bath cold permanent wave solution or heating type one-bath permanent wave solution. Since the above-mentioned treating agent has the above-mentioned effect and particularly no alkali agent or reducing substance and oxidizing substance in a high concentration are used in the heating type one-bath permanent wave solution, damage of the hair caused by elution of hair proteins can be reduced and the storage stability is good with slight irritancy to the skin.
