    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cement admixture improved in slump retention without exhibiting cement hardening retardancy, consisting or a vinyl copolymer composed of an oxyalkylene group-bearing monomer unit and other specific monomer unit(s). SOLUTION: This cement admixture consists of a copolymer composed of (a) a structural unit derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer bearing 25-300mol of a 2-3C oxyalkylene group and (b) another structural unit derived from an ehtylenic unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl ester monomer, and preferably, furthermore, (c) a third structural unit derived from a monomer, i.e., an ethylenic unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (salt), or ethylenic unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, its anhydride, or salt thereof.
