    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable sizing capable of uniformly, rapidly and completely adsorbing a size on yarn in a state of a cheese, etc., by using a water-dispersible cationic size together with a lubricant composition containing a specific anionic surfactant as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:A water-dispersible cationic size is used together with a lubricant composition containing a >=12C anionic surfactant as an essential component and, as necessary, further a wax (e.g. montan wax or Japan wax) added thereto to enable uniform and rapid sizing of yarn in a state of a cheese or beam regardless of treating history of the yarn before the sizing. The resultant sized yarn is capable of exhibiting sufficient cohesiveness in weaving steps. The aforementioned cationic size is obtained by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer with an unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of cationic starch, etc. Anionic surfactants selected from fatty acid soaps, alpha-olefinsulfonic acids, etc., can be cited as the anionic surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial softening agent composition which contains a cationic microbicidal agent, an α-olefinsulfonic acid salt and/or dialkylsulfocuccinic acid salt, wax and a metal-chelating agent and can give a variety of fibers good fabric hand. SOLUTION: This water-based antimicrobial softening agent composition is prepared by mixing 0.1-10wt.% of a cationic antimicrobial selected from among cationic surfactants, biguanties and amino acid surfactants, 0.5-10wt.% of a >=20C α-olefinsulfonic acid salt and/or >=16C dialkylsulfosuccinic acid salt, 0.1-12wt.% of at least one selected from among hydrocarbon wax or its oxide, animal and vegetable wax, amide wax, ester wax and polyethylene oxide wax and further 0.4-5-fold moles, based on the cationic antimicrobial, of a metal-chelating agent such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in an amount of 0.05-10wt.% in the composition. The composition is diluted with water in 0.1-10wt.% concentration and applied to the fabric by padding to effect the softening finish.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformly size the inner, middle and outer layers of a cheese without any unevenness by the coexistence of a water-soluble salt in an aqueous emulsion of a cationic polymer in sizing the cheese. CONSTITUTION:A size solution containing a water-soluble salt, e.g. NaCl, preferably a sulfate or phosphate in 0.2-20g/l concentration coexisting in an aqueous emulsion containing a cationic polymer at 30-80 deg.C is used as a sizing agent to carry out sizing processing of a cheese. The inner, middle and outer layers of the cheese can be uniformly sized without unevenness by using the aforementioned water-soluble salt together in the cationic emulsion polymer having high performance as the sizing agent. A copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer (preferred example; vinyl acetate) with an unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of a cationic polymer (e.g. cationic cellulose) can be cited as the above-mentioned cationic emulsion polymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject smoothing agent capable of smoothing the processing of car sheet textile products, also causing little fogging, consisting of an aqueous dispersion containing a specific wax base and an aqueous solution of cationized starch. CONSTITUTION:The objective smoothing agent consisting of an aqueous dispersion containing (A) (1) a wax base selected from hydrocarbon waxes, hydrocarbon wax oxides and animal and plant waxes and (2) cationized starch, or (B) a mixture of said wax base and a composite made up of cationized starch and an anionic polymer. This agent is used for application on a textile product for car sheets, having such characteristics as to cause little fogging after a car sheet imparted therewith is installed in an automobile. The above anionic polymer is e.g. a polymer of (meth)acrylic acid or maleic acid, a naphthalenesulfonic acid-formalin condensate.
