Abstract: A mixer comprising agitating members (4) and flow direction changing members (7), both of which are provided to revolve together with a rotating shaft (3) which can be rotated and driven on its axis in a vessel (2) containing a substance being mixed, and crushing members (6) provided on an inner peripheral portion (2a') of the vessel (2) facing an outer peripheral portion of the rotating shaft (3) so as to be rotatingly driven. The agitating members (4) are arranged to be spaced diametrically from the outer peripheral portion of the rotating shaft (3) and have agitating surfaces for moving the substance being mixed, toward the outer peripheral portion of the rotating shaft (3). The flow direction changing members (7) are disposed between agitating surfaces thereof and the outer peripheral portion of the rotating shaft (3) to be spaced diametrically from the inner peripheral portion (2a') of the vessel (2) and have surfaces (7d') for changing the flow direction of the substance being mixed from a direction toward the outer peripheral portion of the rotating shaft (3) to a direction toward the inner peripheral portion (2a') of the vessel (2).
