Abstract: A film-forming resin comprising a copolymer consisting of: (a) from 30 to 80 % by weight of a (meth)acrylamide monomer represented by the formula (1) wherein R represents CH3, etc. and R and R represent each a hydrogen atom or a C4 - C12 alkyl group; (b) from 2 to 50 % by weight of a (meth)acrylamide monomer represented by the formula (2) wherein R and R represent each a hydrogen atom or a C1 - C3 alkyl group; (c) from 0 to 30 % by weight of a (meth)acrylate monomer or a (meth)acrylamide monomer represented by the formula (3) wherein R represents a C2 - C3 alkyl group, R and R represents each CH3 or C2H5, and a represents a number of 0 or 1; and (d) from 0 to 40 % by weight of a (meth)acrylate monomer represented by the formula (4) wherein R and R represent each a C2 - C4 alkylene group, R represents a hydrogen atom, CH3 or C6H5, and b and c represent each a number of from 0 to 50; and a hair care product containing the same: The film-forming resin of the present invention makes it possible to sustain a hair style over a prolonged period of time even under a high humidity. Further, it is excellent in shampoo-washability. When used as a hair-styling resin, it achieves an effect of giving a long-lasting and good finishing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a hair cosmetic having excellent hair setting property and hair washing property by combinedly using a water-dispersible acrylic polymer with a water-soluble nonionic activator. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic contains following (A)-(C) components: (A) a water-dispersible acrylic polymer obtained by copolymerizing 35-74wt.% of a 1-5C alkyl acrylate, 25-65wt.% of a 1-5C alkyl methacrylate and 1-15wt.% of a 3-5C acrylate or its salt and having 0.01-10μm particle diameter, (B) a water-soluble nonionic activator containing a polyalkylene glycol or polyoxyethylene segment and (C) water. Preferably, the cosmetic contains the components A and B in an weight ratio (A/B) of (1/1)-(20/1), more preferably is mixed with a feeling improver (e.g. glyceride) and is prepared to an aerosol cosmetic having pH4-8. As the component (B), a water-soluble polyoxyethylene alkyl ether is exemplified.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a hair cosmetic, comprising a copolymer for setting hair and a specific modified polysiloxane, excellent in setting properties and good in touch. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic comprises (A) 0.5-10wt.% polymer for setting hair and (B) 0.02-1.5wt.% modified polysiloxane. This modified polysiloxane is obtained by bonding a poly(N-acylalkylenimine) represented by the formula [R is H, a 1-22C alkyl, etc.; (n) is 2 or 3; (x) is 6-100] through an alkylene group containing a hetero-atom to dimethyl polysiloxane or methylphenyl polysiloxane and the weight-average molecular weight of the polysiloxane part in the main chain in 70000-500000. The weight ratio of the component (A)/(B) is (85/15) to (99.5/0.5). It is necessary that the total weight of the poly(N- acylalkylenimine) in the component (B) is 2-60wt.% based on the total weight of modified polysiloxane. The hair cosmetic is especially suitable as a hair setting agent such as a hair spray.
