Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic containing a plant extract and stearyl glycyrrhetinate or ε-aminocaproic acid and excellent in a wrinkle-preventing and improving effect. CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic for preventing and improving wrinkles contains a plant extract originated from Hamamelis virginiana L., Paeonia suffruticosa Andr., Zingiber officinale Roscoe, a galenical named Senkinsui (Euphorbia rathyris L.) in a total amount of 0.0001-10wt.% (converted into dry content) based on the whole amount of the composition and stearyl glycyrrhetinate or epsilon aminocaproic acid in an amount of 0.001-5wt.%. The cosmetic may further suitably be compounded with an oiling agent, a surfactant, a pH-adjusting agent, a ceramide compound, a pseudoceramide compound, a humectant, an alcohol, a chelating agent, an antiinflammatory agent, a UV light absorbent, a thickening agent, a pigment, a perfume, etc., and subsequently prepared into a water/oil type emulsion cosmetic, an oil/water type emulsion cosmetic, a cream, a milky lotion, a beauty water, an oily cosmetic, a pack agent, a lip stick, a foundation, a skin cleaner, etc. The cosmetic is excellent in a preventing effect and an improving effect on the wrinkles and further in a retaining effect on the moisture of skin and in preventing and improving skin roughness.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin preparation for external use, having a moisture-retaining effect, an effect for preventing and improving skin roughness, and an effect for preventing and improving the formation of skin wrinkles, and excellent in a skin aging-preventing effect. SOLUTION: A skin preparation for external use contains the following components (A) and (B). (A) 0.0001-20wt.% (converted into the dried solid content) of the extracts of one or more kinds of plants selected from Hamamelis virginiana L., Poeoma suffruticosa Andr., Zingiber officinale Roscoe and Euphorbia rathyris L. (B) 0.0001-20wt.% of an acidic heterogeneous polysaccharide originated from a plant (e.g. Polianthes tuberosa L.,) belonging to the genus Polianthes L. The skin preparation may further suitably be compounded with conventional additives and subsequently prepared into a medicinal skin ointment preparation for the external use and further into a skin cosmetic such as a water/oil or oil/water type emulsion cosmetic, a cream, an emulsion, a beauty water, a pack, a lip stick, a foundation, a skin cleanser, a hair-dressing agent or a hair tonic. The extraction of the plant is performed by a method comprising extracting the various plants with a solvent (e.g. ethanol). The component (B) is obtained by culturing a callus derived from the plant belonging to the Polianthes L.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic having excellent stability and safety and exhibiting synergistic effect for remarkably suppressing the formation of wrinkles by combining a specific plant extract with a pseudoceramide. CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic contains (A) an extract of one or more kinds of plants selected from among hamamelis, SHOUKYOU (rhizome of Zingiber officinale) and SENKIN and (B) a pseudoceramide of formula (R and R are each a 9-39C straight or branched-chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group for which one or more OH groups may be substituted; R and R are each H, a phosphate residue, a sulfate residue or a saccharide residue). The cosmetic is preferably further incorporated with (C) a sterol, (D) an anti- inflammatory substance or (E) one or more substances selected from between a singlet oxygen scavenger and an antioxidant. The amounts of the components A, B, C, D and E are preferably 0.0001-20wt.% (in terms of dry solid), 0.01-50wt.%, 0.01-50wt.%, 0.001-5wt.% and 0.001-5wt.%, respectively.
