    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare an O/W-type cosmetic having excellent spreadability and excellent feeling free from tackiness and suitable especially as hair cosmetic by using respective specific amounts of a specific organopolysiloxane in combination with an oil for dissolving the siloxane, a polyether-modified silicone, a surfactant and water. CONSTITUTION:This O/W-type cosmetic contains (A) 0.1-10wt.% of an organopolysiloxane selected from dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane, an alkyl-modified organopolysiloxane and an alkoxy- modified organopolysiloxane, (B) 1-35wt.% of an oil for dissolving the component A, (C) 1-10wt.% of a polyether-modified silicone, (D) 10-40wt.% of an anionic surfactant and/or a nonionic surfactant and (E) 30-80wt.% of water. The system may further be incorporated with (F) a polyhydric alcohol and/or a sugar component (in an amount of 30-80wt.% in terms of components E+F). The cosmetic forms a uniformly emulsified system and the organopolysiloxane of the component A is present as a moderate micro-emulsion (which may be mixed partially with a lamellar liquid crystal).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a middle treating agent composition of permanent wave having improved wave forming ratio, capable of improving suppressing damage to hair by treating hair during a time between treatments with the first and the second agents. CONSTITUTION:A middle treating agent composition of permanent wave, comprising (A) a carbonate or a hydrogencarbonate, preferably sodium carbonate or sodium hydrogencarbonate, ammonium carbonate or ammonium hydrogencarbonate, potassium sodium carbonate or potassium magnesium hydrogencarbonate and (B) dithioglycolic acid or its salt in a ratio of 0.5-10wt.%, especially 1-5wt.% component A and 0.05-10wt.% component B, especially 0.1-5wt.% component B. Since the composition effectively cleaves mixed disulfide in acidity to weak alkalinity, the composition is preferably adjusted to pH6-10, especially 8-10. In use, the composition is sprayed upon hair during a time between treatments with the first and the second agents, especially hair is treated with the first agent in acidity to weak alkalinity, with the composition and then with the second agent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a first agent for permanent wave treatment having uniform waving performance and excellent action to prevent the hair damage such as generation of split hair and giving treated hair with excellent combing smoothness, finger-passing smoothness and feeling over a long period. CONSTITUTION:The objective first agent having the above effects can be produced by compounding a first agent for permanent wave treatment containing a reducing substance with (A) a dithiodiglycolic acid or its salt, preferably diammonium salt and (B) an amino-modified silicone, e.g. the polymer of formula I or formula II (R is CH3 or OH; R is CH3 or H; R is group of formula III or formula IV; R is bivalent hydrocarbon group; R is OCH2CH2, OCH(CH3) CH2, etc.; R and R are H or univalent hydrocarbon group; (a)and (b)are integer of 0-6; Z is halogen ion or organic anion; R is OH, hydroxyalkyl or mono- to polyoxyalkylene; (i) to(k) are integer dependent on the molecular weight), especially a polymer of formula V or formula VI ((s) and (t) are integer depending on the molecular weight 3,000-100,000). The amounts of the components A and B are preferably 0.5-20wt.% and 0.05-10wt.%, respectively.
