Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled tablet that contains a specific amount of a benzalkonium halide, an alkali metal hydrogen carbonate and monoalkali metal phosphate as a foaming agent, thus permitting the prompt and ready preparation of disinfectant solution with a certain concentration. CONSTITUTION:A disinfectant tablet is prepared using (a) 3-30wt%, preferably 5-20wt% of benzalkonium halide, (b) 20-40wt% of alkali metal hydorgen carbonate, (c) 40-70wt% of at least one selected from monoalkali metal phosphate, citric acid, tartaric acid and malic acid and (d) 0.5-4.0wt%, preferably 1.0- 3.0wt% of water as essential components. The tablet is stable under normal conditions and readily soluble in water, when thrown into water. The resultant solution shows high disinfectant activity, being used in a simple manner.
