Abstract: Un sistema de inspección de hojas para una prensa de impresión recto-verso alimentada por hojas del tipo que comprende dos cilindros (10, 20) de impresión para llevar a cabo la impresión simultánea recto-verso de las hojas, comprendiendo dicho sistema de inspección de hojas al menos un dispositivo (200; 300; 400) de inspección para tomar una imagen de un lado de las hojas impresas, caracterizado porque dicho sistema de inspección comprende un primer y segundo cilindros (60, 65) de transferencia interpuestos entre el primero (10) de dichos dos cilindros (10, 20) de impresión y un sistema (5) de sujeción de cadenas de la prensa de impresión, siendo transferidas las hojas impresas sucesivamente desde dicho primer cilindro (10) de impresión a dicho cilindro (60) de transferencia, a dicho segundo cilindro (65) de transferencia, y a dicho sistema (5) de sujeción de cadenas (5), y dicho dispositivo (200; 300; 400) de inspección comprende un sensor (210; 310; 410) de imágenes lineal para llevar a cabo la adquisición de imágenes de escaneado lineal de dicha cara de las hojas impresas, adquiriendo dicho sensor (210; 310; 410) de imágenes lineal visualmente una imagen de una hoja impresa mientras dicha hoja impresa está siendo transportada sobre dicho primer o segundo cilindro (60; 65) de transferencia.

Abstract: There is described a sheet inspection system for a sheet-fed recto-verso printing press of the type comprising two printing cylinders (10,20) for carrying out simultaneous recto-verso printing of the sheets, said sheet inspection system comprising at least a first inspection device (100) for taking an image of a first side of the printed sheets. The first inspection device (100) comprises a first line image sensor (110) for performing line-scanning image acquisition of the first side of the printed sheets, and the first inspection device (100) is disposed in such a way that the first line image sensor (110) visually acquires an image of a printed sheet while the said printed sheet is still adhering onto the surface of a first one (10) of the two printing cylinders (10,20) of the printing press and immediately before the said printed sheet is transferred to a chain gripper system (5) of the printing press. Also described is a printing press equipped with the inspection system.

Abstract: There is described a method for controlling the quality of printed documents (1), such as banknotes and other similar documents, comprising the steps of (i) storing a reference image (6); (ii) acquiring a sample image (5) of a sample printed document to be controlled, which sample image covers only a limited portion of the sample printed document; (iii) selecting a search pattern (7) within the acquired sample image; (iv) searching the reference image (6) for a match with the selected search pattern (7), (v) determining control parameters linked to the position of the search pattern (7) within said sample image (5) and within said reference image (6), (vi) comparing the control parameters linked to the position of the search pattern (7) within the sample image (5) with the control parameters linked to the position of the search pattern (7) within the reference image (6); and (vii) based on the results of the comparison of the control parameters, accepting or rejecting the sample printed document.
