Abstract: 805,035. Protective cut-out arrangements. KERAG KESSELSCHMIEDE APPARATEUND MASCHINENBAU. May 6, 1955 [May 8, 1954; April 23, 1955], No. 13227/55. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XL (a)] A protective circuit connecting the mains at terminals 30, 31 to an ozonizer (see Group XL (a)) comprising a number of glow discharge chambers each connected through an individual fuse to the terminals 22, 32, includes a hightension transformer 26, 27 and an overload relay 28, 29. If, in the event of a short-circuit in one of the discharge chambers, the corresponding fuse does not blow immediately, the relay operates and the contacts 29 disconnect the primary winding 27 of the transformer and connect the mains directly to the terminal 22 to ensure that the fuse blows and disconnects the faulty discharge chamber. The relay then drops back and re-connects the mains to the transformer to supply the other discharge chambers.

Abstract: 721,292. Aerating liquids. KERAG ATELIERS DE CHAUDRONNERIE D' APPAREILS ET DE MECANIQUE. Feb. 22, 1952 [Feb. 23, 1951; May 11, 1951], No. 4749/52. Class 14 (1). Apparatus for mixing gases with liquids comprises a perforate cylinder 1 rotatably mounted on a horizontal axis within a liquid container 107, the gas, fed into the cylinder through a hollow shaft 2 replacing the liquid as it is driven out through the rotating cylinder to produce an intense mixing of the gas and liquid along the circumference of the cylinder. The cylinder may be sub-divided along its length, a baffle 109 being arranged above the cylinder to recirculate the foam before collection. In order to assist the rotation of the cylinder, upon reaching a sufficiently high speed, gas, introduced either from an annular duct 32 between the shaft and a stationary hollow shaft 3 around it, Fig. 2 or from opening 14 in an end wall of the cylinder, Fig. 3, replaces the liquid which is thrown out from between the corresponding end walls of the cylinder and the container. The gas shaft 5, Fig. 3 is stationary, the cylinder being rotated by a solid shaft 2 . The cylinder, Fig. 12, is concentrically mounted within the liquid container 107 , small vent holes 122 leading into a gas discharge manifold 123 being provided to prevent the formation of gas cushions in the container. More than one cylinder may be arranged in a container and the gas may be supplied under pressure. Single and double bell and frusto-conical shaped rotating members are also shown. Specifications 455,547, 461,439 and 476,857, [Group XII], are referred to.
