Abstract: PURPOSE:To discharge quantitatively a high-concn. slurry from a high-pressure reactor, etc. by connecting a quantitative vessel to a high-pressure vessel, accumulating the slurry in the vessel in the first place, and then discharging. CONSTITUTION:The slurry is introduced into a quantitative vessel 4 through an introducing pipe 11 having an introducing valve 1. After the quantitative vessel 4 is filled with the slurry, the introducing valve 1 is closed and a discharge valve 2 provided to a discharge pipe 12 is opened to discharge the slurry. After the discharge valve 2 is opened, a gas valve 3 of an introducing pipe 13 for introducing a compressed gas is opened. The remaining slurry is completely discharged by sending the compressed gas.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a closed type reactor that allows direct observation and measurement by holding an upper transparent member and a lower transparent member with a clamp and forming a chemical container at their contact face. CONSTITUTION:An upper transparent member 2 made of an inorganic transparent member such as glass or an organic transparent member such as methyl methacrylate is brought into contact with a lower transparent member 3 at the faces 5,6 and fastened with a clamp 4, and the inside of it is made to a chemical container to complete a transparent reactor 1. By this way, the conditions of the inside of the reactor can be observed directly from the outside to contribute to elucidation of mechanism of chemical reaction and physical change.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To sediment and separate impurities such as glass pieces from municipal garbage composts, by preparatively adding water to the composts at such a rate that an apparent specific gravity of the composts becomes nearly the same as that of water, and then flowing the composts down with a water stream. CONSTITUTION:A municipal garbage compost is added and mechanically mixed with water at such a rate that its apparent specific gravity becomes nearly the same as that of water. The treated compost is then charged into a water stream running along a definite direction and flowed down with the water stream. During this process, heavy impurities such as glass and metal pieces are sedimented and separated from the compost. Consequently, the impurities are separated with a high efficiency, and the treated compost is useful as an organic fertilizer of high quality.
