    Abstract: The invention relates to a system in construction time use of an elevator, said system comprising an elevator car, elevator ropes, a counterweight and a machine room deck with an elevator machine disposed on it. According to the invention, the elevator ropes have been fitted to run from the elevator car to a traction sheave connected to the elevator machine and further via a diverting pulley mounted on the counterweight to the machine room deck. The anchorage of the elevator rope is disposed substantially near the machine room deck and the elevator rope has been arranged to run further to a rope supply outside the hoistway.

    Abstract: The present invention describes a method and a system for generating a request for elevator service. In the system of the invention, the elevator user receives with his/her terminal (11) a general transmission of information about the elevator system from base stations (10) placed in the elevator lobby of the building. By means of the terminal (11), a service request is generated on the basis of the goal and the information provided by the general transmission. The service request is transmitted further to an elevator group controller (14) via an edge server (12) and a local server (13). The edge server (12) checks the request for correctness and the local server (13) functions as a point of connection between the elevator group and the external world.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring the traffic flow in a building having a people mover system, in which method the following succession of steps is performed: - at least two monitoring units (20) with at least one sensor (40) are temporarily installed in the vicinity of entrance- and/ or exit area(s) (30) of at least one people mover (10), - each of the monitoring units is provided with a power supply (44) for being operated as an independent unit, - events caught by the sensor are associated with the current event time and with the location/ position of the corresponding monitoring unit as correlated event/ event time/ event location data, which correlated event/ event time/ event location data is used to compute a traffic flow in the building.
