The present invention relates to a method for increasing the resource utilization rate and reducing power consumption in a high-speed wireless communication system and a control device. The method according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a process for efficient utilization of a frequency band by including channel state information and data frame mode information in a request frame or an ack frame, before transmission in a wireless communication system. The method according to one embodiment of the present invention relates to a power saving method in a wireless communication system having at least two different transmission modes, the method comprising: a process of setting a mode in such a manner that a control frame is received in a mode with the lowest sampling speed out of three different modes available and then receiving the control frame in the set mode; and a process of setting a mode, after receiving the control frame, in such a manner that a data packet is transmitted / received in a mode with the highest transmission rate and then transmitting / receiving the data packet in the set mode.

The present invention relates to a distributed profile service providing system (300) for unifying a profile database of each service provider server (200) by using location information on each profile database, and a method thereof. The distributed profile service providing system (300) includes a profile location database (310) for storing location information on a profile database of each service provider server (200); an interface unit (320) for communicating with a first service provider server and performing access and authorization processes; a profile manager (330) for receiving profile request information from the frist service provider server through the interface unit (320), searching for location information on the profile through the profile location database (310), and receiving a profile from a second service provider server corresponding to the searched location information; and a conversion manager (340) for appropriately converting the profile for the first service rpovider server requested the profile, and transmitting the converted profile to the first service provider.

According to the present invention, the subscriber manageable profile service providing system includes a profile database, a registration manager, a first profile manager, and a second profile manager. The profile database stores a user's profile. The registration manager performs service registration and updates registration information for the user. The first profile manager receives profile request information from a service provider server that has been requested to provide services from the user, analyzes the profile request information, and provides the corresponding profile to the service provider server. The second profile manager writes the registration information transmitted from the registration manager and the updated registration information as profiles, and stores the profiles in the profile database. In addition, the second profile manager extracts the corresponding profile from the profile database based on a result of the analysis of the first profile manager, and transmits the extracted profile to the first profile manager.

The present invention relates to a unified profile service providing system for providing various services to users in different service provider networks, and a method thereof. The unified profile service providing system (300) includes a profile database server (310), a profile manager (330), and a profile converter (340). The profile database server (310) manages profiles for service provider servers (200). The profile manager (330) receives profile request information from a service provider server (200), checks whether the information is included in the profile request information, and obtains the corresponding profile by searching for the profile through interaction with the profile database server (310) on the basis of the checking result. In the case that the user's service request information is not included in the profile request information, the profile manager (330) searches for a profile within a user permitted range. The profile converter (340) converts the profile obtained by the profile manager (330) into an appropriate form for the service provider server (200).

The present invention relates to a device for controlling a power level to control contention between mobile terminals (10-15) in an uplink contention period in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA) system, and a method thereof. In the method, cell broadcasting information broadcasted form the base station (20) is received by the mobile terminal (10-15), the transmission power information of the base station (20) is obtained from the cell broadcasting information by the mobile terminal (10-15), a received power level of the received cell broadcasting information is obtained by the mobile terminal (10-15), transmission power of a signal transmitted to the base station (20) is determined based on the transmission power information and the received power level, and the signal is transmitted to a contention period on the determined transmission power.

The present invention relates to a communication device that automatically searches for wireless local area network (WLAN) access points, and to a method thereof. The communication device includes a GPS receiving module (12) for receiving position information of the connection device from a GPS satellite; a WLAN module (11) for connecting with the WLAN access point; a storage unit (13) for storing position information of the WLAN access point; and a controller (14) for selectively operating the WLAN module based on the position information of the communication device output from the GPS receiving module (12) and the position information of the WLAN access point stored in the storage unit (13). According to the present invention, a user terminal receiving data services through WLAN efficiently utilizes power. Also, the searching of the WLAN access points is performed automatically without the need for user manipulation.

Disclosed is a method for automatically searching a wireless LAN AP (access point) in a terminal having a wireless LAN module, a mobile communication module, and a GPS receiving module installed therein. The method comprises: (a) acquiring location information of the wireless LAN AP provided in a service area of a base station from the base station connected through the mobile communication module; (b) consecutively tracking a current location of the terminal through the GPS receiving module; (c) determining a driving start time of the wireless LAN module through the location information of the wireless LAN AP acquired in (a) and the current location information of the terminal tracked in (b); and (d) driving the wireless LAN module to detect a beacon signal periodically output by the wireless LAN AP.

Disclosed is a protocol embodying system and method in the GGSN. An IP layer is provided between the GPRS network and the PDN and performs routing between the two networks, and performs routing between the protocols of the first and second network layers and the transfer layer protocol on the GPRS network. A virtual driver is provided on the lower part of the IP layer, is connected to the protocol of the GPRS tunneling provided to the upper part of the IP layer on the GPRS network, and is operable as the lower interface of the IP layer. Since the upper part and the lower part of the IP are appropriately connected by the virtual driver, a single IP is needed in the system, and the embodied configuration becomes simpler.
