Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for canceling a vibration/silence notification mode of a mobile phone comprising: a condition setting unit for receiving canceling conditions of a vibration/silence notification mode from a user and setting the conditions; a memory unit for storing caller identification (CID) information, and storing the conditions set by the condition setting unit; an incoming call operator for searching the memory unit, generating the CID information, and comparing the CID information with the conditions set and determining whether or not it is required to cancel the vibration/silence notification mode; and a mode changer for canceling the vibration/silence notification mode.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a terminal of an OFDMA-TDMA wireless Internet system capable of reducing transmission delay time while securing QoS for uplink data and a packet transmission method. A MAC layer of the terminal is divided into a MAC software part and a MAC hardware part to control priorities of data packets at a high level and low level. The high level priority controller carries out various fine control operations according to a QoS policy and the low level priority controller performs mechanical control operations based on a predetermined simple fixed priority policy.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a protocol embodying system and method in the GGSN. An IP layer is provided between the GPRS network and the PDN and performs routing between the two networks, and performs routing between the protocols of the first and second network layers and the transfer layer protocol on the GPRS network. A virtual driver is provided on the lower part of the IP layer, is connected to the protocol of the GPRS tunneling provided to the upper part of the IP layer on the GPRS network, and is operable as the lower interface of the IP layer. Since the upper part and the lower part of the IP are appropriately connected by the virtual driver, a single IP is needed in the system, and the embodied configuration becomes simpler.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for automatically searching a wireless LAN AP (access point) in a terminal having a wireless LAN module, a mobile communication module, and a GPS receiving module installed therein. The method comprises: (a) acquiring location information of the wireless LAN AP provided in a service area of a base station from the base station connected through the mobile communication module; (b) consecutively tracking a current location of the terminal through the GPS receiving module; (c) determining a driving start time of the wireless LAN module through the location information of the wireless LAN AP acquired in (a) and the current location information of the terminal tracked in (b); and (d) driving the wireless LAN module to detect a beacon signal periodically output by the wireless LAN AP.

Abstract:
A recording medium having an internal data structure for uplink data transmission based on QoS in a mobile terminal of an OFDMA/TDMA-based high-speed portable Internet system, the internal data structure comprising a connection identifier index indicating a predetermined connection of the mobile terminal; a service class index indicating QoS classes of uplink data; a control channel index indicating a type of a control channel for transmission of a management message of the mobile terminal; an access type index indicating a type of access for a bandwidth request of the mobile terminal; a user packet list having IP packets linked to each other through a linked list; a management message list having the management messages linked to each other through a linked list; and a bandwidth request list having informative elements that are linked to each other for the bandwidth request through a linked list.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for saving power of a subscriber station. The apparatus and method for saving power of the subscriber station maintains a sleep mode during a predetermined sleep mode interval, applies an awake mode and performs an initial ranging process when the initial ranging process between the subscriber station and a base station has failed over a predetermined number of times, and maintains a sleep mode interval of twice that of the first sleep mode interval, applies the awake mode, and performs the initial ranging process on the second failure of the initial ranging process. Therefore power consumption according to failure of the initial ranging process is minimized.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for generating/changing a transport connection identifier (CID) in a portable Internet system, and a terminal using the same. Accordingly, the present invention provides a terminal including a packet detecting unit, a user input/output unit, a CID managing unit, and a data storing unit. The packet detecting unit determines whether a packet can be classified by a pre-established packet classification rule or a packet cannot be classified by the rules. For the packet that cannot be classified by the pre-established packet classification rule, the user input/output unit receives QoS information from a user. The CID managing unit generates a new packet classification rule for the unclassified packet, checks a CID in a data storing unit, the CID having the same QoS class as that of the QoS parameter input through the user input/output unit, and determines whether to generate a new CID or to add the new packet classification rule to the pre-established CID depending on the checking result. The data storing unit stores the new packet classification rule generated by the CID managing unit and information on the CID.
Abstract:
A wireless connection terminal unit is controlled to download a web page in portable Internet, the control apparatus including a HTTP packet analyzer for analyzing a HTTP packet and a HTTP session management unit including a HTTP packet transmitting/receiving information table at which HTTP request packet information is recorded. The HTTP session management unit controls a HTTP session unit according to characteristics of a web page to be downloaded such that resource maintenance can be efficiently performed and competition for establishing connection and time for downloading a web page can be reduced.
