Provided is a communication system for transmitting a control channel using a downlink. The communication system transmits, to a terminal, uplink-allocation-information transmission or non-transmission information representing whether or not uplink allocation information is transmitted using a downlink; and the terminal determines whether or not a downlink frame includes uplink allocation information on the basis of the uplink-allocation-information transmission or non-transmission information. In addition, a base station transmits, to the terminal, information on resources through which a downlink physical control channel can be transmitted; and the terminal decodes a downlink control channel only within available resources through which a downlink physical control channel can be transmitted.

Disclosed is a method for transmitting and receiving control information. The method for transmitting control information according to the present invention, in a mobile communication system in which a control channel region and a data channel region are separated from each other, comprises the steps of: determining a control channel resource for transmitting control information by means of the data channel region; and transmitting the control information using the determined control channel resource. According to the present invention, a capacity for control information, which increases for multiple user multiple-input multiple-out (MIMOs) in a heterogeneous network environment, for heterogeneous network interference control using carrier aggregation, for frequent use of a multicast-broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) subframe, and for a CoMP transmission control, may be satisfied. Further, an adaptive resource allocation based on a requested capacity for control information may be enabled, and the efficient utilization of resources may also be enabled.

The method involves multiplying a plurality of data symbols with a first scrambling sequence and a first orthogonal sequence, mapping the data symbols multiplied by the first scrambling sequence and the first orthogonal sequence to a first slot, multiplying a plurality of data symbols with a second scrambling sequence and a second orthogonal sequence and mapping the data symbols multiplied by the second scrambling sequence and the second orthogonal sequence to a second slot. The method further involves transmitting the first slot and the second slot to a base station. The first slot includes five DFT-S-OFDM symbols to transmit the data symbols and the second slot includes four DFT-S-OFDM symbols to transmit the data symbols. The first orthogonal sequence is selected from first predefined sequences and the second orthogonal sequence is selected from second predefined sequences. The sequence index of the first orthogonal sequence is the same as the sequence index of the second orthogonal sequence .
