Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for intermediately branch-connecting an optical fiber cable which imparts a connecting slack for a fiber to be branched even to a linear cable having no loop part (the state of cable in no slack is meant) in intermediate branch-connecting. SOLUTION: The method for connecting a branching cable 40 to the linear optical fiber cable to be branched in no slack includes a first step wherein sheaths of prescribed length are respectively removed at a fixed interval in a cable 20 to be branched and a first branch-connecting part and a first auxiliary connecting part are formed in both sides of a first sheath maintaining part, a second step wherein the fiber to be branched is cut in the first branch-connecting part and a first fiber to be branched and a second fiber to be branched are formed, a third step wherein the first fiber to be branched is connected to a first branching fiber in the branch-connecting part and the connecting part is formed, a fourth step wherein the connecting part is drawn out to the auxiliary connecting part side and a fifth step wherein the first fiber to be branched is connected to the first branching fiber of the branching cable 40 in the auxiliary connecting part and the second fiber to be branched is connected to the second branching fiber of the branching cable 40 in the branch-connecting part.
