Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the equal-interval subband analyzing filter for MPEG audio multichannel processing which can analyze and filter frame samples of 5 channels in an assigned cycle at a constant operation frequency. SOLUTION: This filter consists of a window wing module 10 which starts a filtering process in response to the input of a frame start signal and which performs window wing operation for inputted frame data and a matrixing module 20 which receives the arithmetic result of the window wing module 10 and which performs matrixing operation for the frame data; and the window wing module 10 and matrixing module 20 are coupled in a pipeline shape with each other to filter 5 channels by timing division and use one filter bank by making good use of pipeline structure and timing division technique, channel by channel.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder which enables real time processing of MPEG-II audio encoding process requiring a large amount of operation for a many kinds of works. SOLUTION: For audio data A/D converted by an A/D converting part 6 and stored in a memory 7 for units of a frame, high-speed Fourier transform FFT operation is performed for each channel by an FFT part 1, analysis filtering is performed by an analysis filtering part 2, the processing result is outputted to the memory 7 again, and psychological acoustic operation is performed from the processing result of the FFT part 1 by a processor core part 4. Then, a scale coefficient is calculated by the output of the analysis filtering part 2, and while using the result of this psychological acoustic operation, a final output bit string is outputted via a FIFO 8. In this case, processor efficiency is improved by utilizing an applied special processor for effectively executing the complicated algorithm, an FFT and an analysis filter engine are added, calculation ability is improved by forming a pipeline for each module to independently process routines, so that a system use degree is made maximal.
