A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The mobile terminal and the method for controlling the same according to the present invention can execute a specific function corresponding to at least one shaking operation in consideration of a screen displayed on a display unit, a direction of the shaking operation and the number of times of sensing the shaking operation, upon sensing of the at least one shaking operation, and display a result screen of executing the specific function. According to the present invention, it is possible to arouse user's interest by providing different screens according to shaking operations of the mobile terminal and to provide user convenience by executing a specific function only by shaking the mobile terminal.

A mobile terminal including a wireless communication processor configured to provide wireless communication; a touchscreen configured to display a home screen page; and a controller configured to display an Internet Of Things (IOT) page instead of the home screen page in response to a preset touch input on the home screen page, wherein the IOT page includes at least one icon for executing an application on a specific external device, and in response to an execution request of the displayed icon on the IOT page, transmit information associated with the application to the specific external device through the wireless communication processor to execute the application on the specific external device.

The mobile terminal includes a touch screen configured to display a first page; and a controller configured to generate a panel region having a predetermined transparency on a preset region of the touch screen, if a preset touch gesture is applied to the touch screen while the first page is being displayed, and configured to display, on the panel region, a first function icon corresponding to information displayed on the first page. If the first page is converted into a second page, the first function icon displayed on the panel region is changed to a second function icon corresponding to information displayed on the second page.

The present invention relates to a mobile terminal formed so as to wrap around the wrist and a control method therefor, the mobile terminal comprising: a main body; a band connected to the main body and formed so as to be wearable around the wrist; a touch screen arranged on the front surface of the main body, formed so as to detect a touch, and displaying an hour hand and a minute hand indicating the current time; and a control unit for moving an hour hand or a minute hand to a certain point on the touch screen and executing a preset function on the basis of the position of the moved hour hand or minute hand, when a touch applied to either the hour hand or the minute hand is moved to the certain point on the touch screen.
