Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting a random access channel (RACH)-less mobility with pre-allocated beams in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a mobility command message which includes information on a pre-allocated UL resource for UL transmission with pre-allocated beams, synchronizes to a target cell, and performs the UL transmission to the target cell via the pre-allocated beams based on the pre-allocated UL resource for UL transmission to transmit a mobility complete message via a UL grant. If the UL transmission fails, the UE may perform RACH procedure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring paging on unlicensed bands in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device calculates a first paging occasion (PO) based on its identifier (ID), receives information on timing of monitoring paging from a network, and monitors the first PO. When a discovery signal is not detected in the first PO, the wireless calculates a second PO based on the information on the timing of monitoring paging, not based on its ID, and monitors the second PO. The second PO is a PO associated with other wireless device, but not associated with the wireless device by the ID of the wireless device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for deprioritizing access on an unlicensed band based on user equipment (UE) preference in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device attempts to access a cell on an unlicensed frequency and starts a timer. When the timer expires, if the wireless device is a licensed preferred wireless device, the wireless device deprioritizes the unlicensed frequency. If the wireless device is an unlicensed preferred wireless device, the wireless device deprioritizes only the cell. The wireless device performs a cell reselection according to the de-prioritization.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing an uplink (UL) transmission with pre-allocated beams in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a connection release message from a network in a first state. The connection release message includes information on a pre-allocated UL resource for UL transmission with pre-allocated beams. The UE enters a second sate from the first state, selects a cell, and performs the UL transmission to the cell in the second state via the pre-allocated beams based on the pre-configured UL resource for UL transmission when a data is available for transmission. The first state may be a radio resource control (RRC) connected state, and the second state may be an RRC inactive state and/or an RRC idle state.
