Abstract:
The invention relates to a coating composition on the surface of a filtration media. In particular, the invention relates to a coating composition for a filtration media comprising at least one polymer; at least one crosslinking agent; and optionally at least one compatabilizing agent.
Abstract:
Hydrocarbyl substituted carboxylic compositions and derivatives thereof useful as additives for lubricating oil and fuel compositions. Carboxylic compositions are derived from (A) an olefinically unsaturated hydrocarbon, said hydrocarbon having at least one allylic hydrogen atom, and (B) an alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic compound prepared by reacting (1) an active methylene compound of formula (I) and (2) a carbonyl compound of general formula (II) wherein R is H or hydrocarbyl and R is a member of the group consisting of H, hydrocarbyl and (III), wherein each R' is independently R or OR and each R is, independently, H or a hydrocarbyl group; and lower alkyl acetals, ketals, hemiacetals and hemiketals of the carbonyl compound (2). Carboxylic derivative compositions are obtained by reacting the carboxylic compositions with a reactant selected from the group consisting of (a) amines characterized by the presence within their structure of at least one condensable H-N
Abstract:
The present invention provides a low cost technique for synthesizing substituted trithiocarbonates and derivates thereof, by a one-step process which does not require solvent washes or re-crystallization steps, and results in practical yields more than double that of processes disclosed in the prior art.
Abstract:
An additive composition containing an antioxidant and a dispersant that reduces the soot content in lubricating oil in an engine and/or the emission of an engine. Further, a process for employing the additive composition to decrease the amount of soot in the lubricating oil of an engine and/or decrease the emissions from an engine.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intermediate useful for preparing a dispersing agent- viscosity improving agent for lubricants and provide a method for preparing the intermediate. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a reaction product of (A) at least one kind of olefinic unsaturated hydrocarbon polymer having about 20,000-500,000 Mn when the polymer is not a star polymer and having about and R are each independently H or a hydrocarbyl group; R is bifunctional hydrocarbylene group; (n) is 0 or 1] and its reactive raw materials.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction product of a polyolefin with a carboxylic acid reactant for forming a carboxylic acid reaction product. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a substd. carboxylic acid acylating agent prepd. by a process comprising the step (a) of reacting an olefin (A) with a carboxylic acid reactant (B), if necessary in the presence of an acid catalyst, to form an olefin-carboxylic acid adduct (C) and the step (b) of reacting the adduct (C) with an α,β-unsatd. acid or its anhydride (D) to form the obiective acylating agent.
