    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an approach on the basis of a principle to a spatiotemporal signal constellation design that can further sufficiently accomplish a logical advantage of a high data rate and a low error probability. SOLUTION: This method is provided for a radio signal transmission of a signal from two or more antenna arrays where each signal to be transmitted is selected from a constellation of unitary spatiotemporal signals. Each signal is a unitary matrix in which each column shows its own antenna, each row shows its own time interval, and each element shows complex amplitude transmitted by a prescribed antenna in a prescribed time interval. In a specified performance form, a signal constellation matrix forms a non abelian group having a positive diversity product or the remainder or the like of such a group. In another performance from, a signal constellation is a subset of such a group, and its multiplication closure forms a finite non abelian group having a positive diversity product.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new procedure that decides a null vector and an optimum sequence for signal detection in a wireless communication system employing a multiple antenna array for transmission reception. SOLUTION: The calculation amount required for the procedure of this invention is scaled only for the 3rd power of number M of transmission antennas. Furthermore, A matrix square arithmetic operation and an inverse arithmetic operation can be completely avoided. In place of them the unitary conversion is frequently in use. The major part of this invention introduces the null vector and the optimum sequence from a couple of matrices of P1/2 and Qαwithout the need for the matrix square arithmetic operation and the inverse matrix arithmetic operation. The matrix product P1/2 Qα* (a symbol '*' denotes conjugate transposition) is equal to an ordinary inverse matrix including a channel matrix H as sub matrices. The matrices P1/2 and Qα can be obtained by propagating a matrix root algorithm.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for signal detection in a wireless communication system that includes multiple-antenna arrays for transmission and reception. The method involves multiplying a vector of signals collected from respective receiving antennas by a nulling vector, such that the resulting vector product provide s an estimated value corresponding to a specific one of the transmitted signals. A respective such multiplication is performed to detect each of the transmitte d signals. In contrast to related methods of the prior art, each nulling vector is obtained from a channel matrix of estimated channel coefficients without performing any matr ix inversion operations, and only a single pseudoinverse related to the channel matrix is computed. As a result, numerical stability is improved and the computational complexity of the method is reduced by an order of magnitude relative to methods of the prior art.
