Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the number of necessary individual antenna packages in half and to achieve separation at an appropriate level between corresponding quadrature feeding ports by using a pair of cross polarization antennas instead of an individual vertically polarized wave antenna. SOLUTION: An antenna structure 10a uses a pair of double orthogonal antenna structural elements which are orthogonally crossed with each other and minimize signal interference during signal transmission. Two antenna structural elements excellently excite a cross polarization electric field component and arranges it in a relation of almost +45 deg./-45 deg.. An antenna element indicated by elements 16 and 18 is excellently packaged in one unit with the same phase as a center and this cross polarization antenna achieves separation at an appropriate level between corresponding quadrature feeding ports needed by a transmission system. Then, since independent carrier wave wave motion is transmitted from the antenna structure occupying a minimal space, it becomes easier to use half the number of the antennas.

Abstract: To address the issue of adding additional RF carriers to a transmitted signal in support of subscriber growth, an antenna configuration is utilized with orthogonally polarized transmission antenna pairs. The orthogonally polarized antennas are preferably arranged in substantially a +45 DEG /-45 DEG relationship and substantially maintain co-phase centers. By utilizing pairs of orthogonally polarized antenna components, the number of antennas necessary to transmit carrier signals can be halved. Further, undesirable size and space limitations can be avoided without a substantial loss in output carrier signals and without substantial signal interference.
