    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method more immune to every kind of interference than a conventional method. SOLUTION: This invention provides a method and a device that allow transmitters (2, 6) to communicate at least one data packet with a prescribed packet size to a receiver via a communication channel (3). The transmitters (2, 6) have a memory (21) to store a common set of a data rate. This method includes a step where the transmitters (2, 6) divide at least one packet into many frames each having a prescribed frame size, a step where one combination of the frame size and any of the common set of the data set is automatically selected so as to limit a transmission time of each frame to a prescribed value and a step where the transmitters (2, 6) transmit each frame via the communication channel (3).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid collision, to enhance the availability of a common channel medium and to reduce the powder consumption of a mobile station by allowing a network station to set suspension threshold that suspends the transmission for a data signal when a signal that exceeds threshold is received to higher sensitivity than carrier detection threshold that performs receiving processing when the signal that exceeds threshold is received. SOLUTION: Mobile network stations 18 receive a signal on time slot base during a receiving mode and a carrier detection threshold circuit 70 and a suspension threshold circuit 72 decide the energy level of an incoming signal. When the circuit 72 detects a signal whose level exceeds threshold, it outputs a suspension instruction signal which notifies that sending can not be performed to prevent collision to a signal processing circuit 76. When a signal level increases and the circuit 70 detects a signal whose level exceeds threshold, it outputs a detection signal to the circuit 76 and the circuit 76 starts receiving processing.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the preamble part of a data packet to immediately execute training for using minimum preamble continuing time by acquiring the weight coefficient of phase information from a symbol in the packet and detecting a channel, based on an average value to which phase information is weighted. SOLUTION: The front end of a detector/decoder 360 has a look-up table 705. The table 705 converts twenty two samples of I/Q input signals into twenty two polarity samples, namely, squared modulus components R and phase components ϕ. A vector integrator 710 receives the R samples, stores the respective samples in one of twenty two samples per symbol, integrates them and generates the average (integrated) R value for the twenty two samples per symbol. The vector integrator 710 excuses addition/integration for the eight continuous symbol intervals when a training process starts. A window integrator 730 is used for a timing reproduction process.

    Abstract: A receiver and a method for operating the receiver, for a station in a wireless local area network using a common wireless communication channel and employi ng a CSMA/CA (carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance) protocol includes various modes. In normal mode, the receiver follows typical states in order to detect a message and demodulate data from the message properly. Meanwhile, a proce ss implements a message-in-message (MIM) mode when an energy increase above a specified level is detected. While in the MIM mode, if a carrier is detected , the energy increase is caused by a new message; otherwise, the energy increase is cause d by an interfering station. If the carrier is detected, the receiver begins retraining so that it can start receiving the new message as soon as the first message ends. If no carrier is detected, the receiver waits a specified time to detect a carrier or for the end of the first message, after which the receiver returns to the beginning of the normal mod e. While in the normal mode, if a message is detected that is not addressed to the station, the receiver enters a hunt mode. While in the hunt mode, the receiver waits for the curre nt message to finish. At the same time, a process implements retraining when both an energ y increase above a specified leveland a carrier are detected. If no carrier is detected within a specified time, or if the energy level decreases below the specified level, the receiver returns to the beginning of the normal mode.
