Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use a system band without impairing the quality of a sound signal by converting digital information emitted from a mobile object communication network at a first data rate into a second data rate required in a position where an ATM exchange is connected to a public switched network for the first time. SOLUTION: A mobile terminal 10 calls a cable system telephone set S1 in the public switched network 200. The signal of a base station 20 having the best S/N is selected by a frame selector 120 among the signals of plural base stations receiving digital data of the bit rate of 8 kbps in the mobile terminal 10. A mobile object telephone switching station 100 becomes an initial connection procedure mode. When a line 515 which can directly connected to the public switched network 200 exists, a vocoder 130 converts the bit rate from 8k to 64 kbps from the mobile terminal 10 and transmits it. When a connection opposite party is the ATM exchange 150, a connection procedure is advanced with 8 kbps as it is and the vocoder 153 of the final ATM exchange 150-N executes the conversion of 8 k to 64 kbps.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve efficiency of packet distributing paths using a mobile IP. SOLUTION: Routing table entry corresponding to a mobile device in a router (including a base station having a routing function) in a single domain is communicated by using the routing of a host base. This routing table entry is established and communicated through a path setting scheme for transmitting a packet directed to the mobile device along paths originally established through the domain router and the base station. This is operated regardless of the domain base station with which the mobile device is connected. The path setting scheme can maintain an appropriate relation between a router interface and a packet address for the routing table entry by using power source refresh and a hand-off path setting message.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimal technique for tunneling for transferring a packet from a home agent to a mobile device by arranging an outside agent corresponding to the mobile device at a place common with the mobile device. SOLUTION: Upon acquiring a new outside agent, a mobile device communicates the address of the corresponding outside agent to a home agent. The home agent having the mobile device analyzes a packet received as a packet header destination address, and transfers the packet to the outside agent by using the address of the outside agent instead of the address of the mobile device. The outside agent receives the packet, removes the address of the outside agent, replaces it with the address of the mobile device as the packet header destination address, and transfers the packet to the mobile device.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a radio access method to a packet base network for realizing local movability in a sub-net with the minimum delay and traffic amounts. SOLUTION: Local movability in a sub-net can be realized by maintaining and updating routing table entry in a domain router and a base station for transferring a packet having the address of a mobile device as a destination address to the destination of the mobile device. The packet can be transmitted to the destination of the mobile device regardless of which base station the mobile device is connected with. When the mobile device is positioned in a domain outside a region, a notice address is assigned to the mobile device, and the tunneling of packet to the destination of the mobile device is operated. It is necessary for the mobile device to have one notice address for each outside domain.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the two-way wireless message communication system that employs a message communication network having at least one subscriber user agent storing a message transferred to a prescribed destination. SOLUTION: The two-way wireless message communication system 10 includes a message communication network that has a user agent 12 corresponding to a subscriber. A subscriber 40 receives a message through a 1st communication channel 42 from the message communication network. The user agent 12 includes lots of messages stored therein and a prescribed message is stored in the user agent 12 and transferred to a desired destination in response to a transmission message code received through a 2nd communication return channel 43. The stored message is correctable and as a result, various messages are transferred to a prescribed destination.

SOLUTION: This system can be changed to a system which contains another 2nd bidirectional message communication device such as a telephone set 22, an electronic mail 27, etc., by using a bidirectional wireless message communication system 10. 2nd communication return channels 43 which are used by a bidirectional message communication device 11 and any of other devices improves the capabilities not only of a new message or response but also of the system 10. The channel 43 can be used for a positive response, therefore, enables reliable message communication, and when signal communication such as registered information and location information is available, it can be used for the signal communication.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of packet path setting addresses in a wire subnet offering a radio service by allocating the packet path setting address to a radio device when the power source of the radio device is turned on. SOLUTION: Packet path setting addresses are allocated by using a DHCP server, and the addresses are directly or indirectly supplied through nodes functioning as a DHCP relay for the DHCP server. When the allocated packet path setting address is the care-of-address of an external domain, the address is deallocated when the power source of the radio device is turned off, or when the radio device is handed off to a new domain. When the allocated packet path setting address is the address of a radio device in a home domain, the address is deallocated when the power source of the radio device is turned off.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ability of an existing wireless paging system by enabling control with respect to the distribution and expansion of a message by communicating the message, while providing a modular server group for adding respective functions such as message expansion, transaction tracking and directional paging based on a network. SOLUTION: A cellular system 300 is provided with a mobile object exchange 308 and a home position register 304 for storing the profile of mobile message communication entity. Further, the system is equipped with a user agent 322 for message expansion and the other significant service, transaction server 324 for adjustment, and distribution server 320 for executing the directional paging algorithm. This system 300 adds the entity to a current cellular infrastructure and performs the message expansion, user characteristic service, transaction tracking and directional paging based on the network. Then, the message is stored and distributed to the desired destination.
