Abstract: Methods of reverse link power control are provided. In one example embodiment, a signal-to-interference+noise (SINR) is measured for a plurality of mobile stations. A power control adjustment is determined for each of the mobile stations based on the measured SINR for the mobile station and a fixed target SINR, the fixed target SINR being used in the determining step for each mobile station and sending the power control adjustments to the mobile stations. In another example embodiment, one or more signals are transmitted to a base station. A power control adjustment indicator indicating an adjustment to a transmission power level is received. The received power control adjustment is determined based on a measured signal-to-interference+noise ratio (SINR) for the one or more transmitted signals and a fixed target SINR threshold, the fixed target SINR threshold being used for power control adjustment of a plurality of mobile stations.

Abstract: A mobile terminal is controlled via over-the-air feedback so as to enable its data transmissions to be independently and successfully decoded at each of the base stations in its active set absent a transmit power limitation or data retransmission limit. Using the decoded data, the channel is re-estimated and the waveform received from the mobile terminal is reconstructed and subtracted from the total interference at each base station in the active set where decoding has been successful. As a result, transmissions from other mobile terminals, which have yet to be successfully decoded at such a base station, will experience a higher signal-to-noise ratio and thus an increased likelihood of being successfully decoded.

Abstract: Datos decodificados exitosamente recibidos desde una terminal móvil así como el formato de transmisión de esos datos son relevados sobre la red de retroceso desde un receptor de estación base que decodificó exitosamente la transmisión de la terminal móvil hasta las estaciones base en el conjunto activo de la terminal móvil que presuntamente fueron incapaces de decodificar la transmisión de la terminal móvil debido a una relación señal a ruido inadecuada. Una estación base que reciba esta transmisión proveniente de la estación base de relevación que exitosamente decodificó y desmoduló la transmisión de la terminal móvil es entonces capaz de reconstruir los datos y restarlos de la interferencia total, incrementado de esta manera la relación señal a ruido en esta estación base para su procesamiento en célula.
