Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient operation of channel resources by excluding the non-efficient utilization of the channel resources by autonomously reporting system data from a remote site and allocating a transmission parameter through a local controller while using this information. SOLUTION: The remote site of mobile equipment 106 autonomously supplies the system data such as the measured value of a received signal strength, for example, through a base station transceiver 104 to a base station controller 102 during a period in which a communication link is settled active. Thus, the reduction of setting overhead is achieved. By using the autonomous report of the measured reception strength, the base station controller 102 can control burst transmission parameter allocated before each of burst transmission such as data velocity, band width and nominal initial output power, for example. Further, on the basis of this autonomous report of the received signal strength, in the case of burst transmission, the base station controller 102 can control energy from the base station controller 102.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the channel use rate in a wireless communication system by increasing the burst period so that additional data which become usable in the first burst transmission allocation are transmitted and adapting the burst period to an input data message. SOLUTION: A mobile communication exchange center 100, base station controllers 102, base transceiver stations 104, and remote users which operate respective mobile stations 106 are included. A wireless communication system like this allocates a burst period which is long enough to transmit data currently usable for transmission. The allocation of this long burst period accepts the transmission of additional message data arriving before the data burst transmission is completed. Message data arriving before a data burst ends are added to data allocated before the burst and the period of the burst is extended exceeding the initially allocated period when necessary.

Abstract: A method to adjust the burst transmission duration time, in a high speed digital wireless communication system, to provide sufficient time for the transmission of data when all the data is not available at the time of transmission. According to the method of the invention, after the burst transmission is begun, the burst is maintained active as additional data is detected within a known time period following the previous detected data packet and the detected data is appended to the active burst transmission. The invention further terminates the burst duration when no additional data is detected within the redefined time period following the previous detected data packet.
