Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically restarting a call, in a communication system and to provide a mobile switching center(MSC). SOLUTION: A call is set up on a call path between a mobile unit of a communication system and a network element. A processor, such as a mobile switching center(MSC) discriminates that the call is being disconnected from the mobile unit. When the processor discriminates that the mobile unit has been disconnected from the call, the call is restarted automatically on the call path. The call is preferably restarted on the call path between the MSC and the network element and moreover with no input from the mobile unit.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system and method for registering a radio unit at the place of the boundary between geographical service areas so as to dissolve ping-pong phenomena which occur since the radio transmission path between the radio unit and the cells of various different MSC's is affected toy various conditions such as environmental conditions, physical conditions, etc. SOLUTION: This intersystem registering system (method) preserves the information about the registration of a radio unit, within a system at visit destination so that it may use the information when the radio unit returns to the system at its visit destination even when the radio unit is registered in another system. For example, a first visit destination system to a first geographical service area affixes a time stamp to the information about registration to the radio unit when the registration cancel message from a home system is received, and it delays the information about registration to the radio unit by a certain period. The first visit destination system uses the information about registration preserved to the radio unit when the radio unit returns to the first geographical service area.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system or method for transmitting a message to a traveler especially by using the place or positional information of a wireless mobile unit. SOLUTION: The radio communication system receives information from the wireless mobile unit related to an information category and judges that the unit has entered an area including a site related to the information category. Then, information peculiar to the site and the category is received by location- based message server located in the center. When the traveler enters an area including a mall, the wireless mobile unit receives information peculiar to the site and the category such as information related to sale in the mall. Thus, desired information peculiar to the area where the traveler is located is received.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that provides a communication conference service in a multi-leg communication session. SOLUTION: An system embodiment has a database and a switching center. The database stores a plurality of secondary directory numbers and conference parameters corresponding to primary directory numbers in a memory. The switching center has an interface that receives an incoming call leg to designate a primary directory number and discriminates whether or not the primary directory number and a plurality of the secondary directory numbers corresponding to the primary directory number are configured for a conference mode. When the interface is configured for the conference mode, the switching center has instructions to conduct processing and routing of each call leg corresponding to each of the secondary directory numbers among a plurality of the secondary directory numbers to form a plurality of call legs, to monitor a response of a plurality of the call legs and to connect the call leg receiving a response among a plurality of the call legs to an incoming call leg of the multi-leg communication conference session.

A moving body conversion center has an interface which receives an incoming call leg prescribing a primary telephone number and differentially processes respective outgoing call legs relating to the secondary telephone numbers currently incorporated in the calling group to route them.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and Mobile Switching Center (MSC) for automatically re-establishing a call in a communication system. A call is established on a call path in a communication system between a mobile unit and a network element. A processor, such as a Mobile Switching Center (MSC), determines that the mobile unit has disconnected from the call. The processor automatically re-establishes the call on the call path if it was determined that the mobile unit disconnected from the call. The re-establishment of the call preferably occurs on the call path between the MSC and the network element, and occurs without input from the mobile unit.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method are provided for controlling secondary treatment of multiple leg telecommunication sessions, such as for providing secondary treatment of outgoing call legs for a flexible alerting service, by an originating switch rather than a distant or terminating switch. The preferred system includes a home location register coupled to a mobile switching center. The home location register has, stored in a memory, a plurality of secondary directory numbers associated with a primary directory number, such as an ANSI compatible pilot directory number, and for each secondary directory number of the plurality of secondary directory numbers, further stored in the memory a corresponding originating no answer time parameter. The mobile switching center has an interface for receiving an incoming call leg designating the primary directory number and for differentially processing and routing each outgoing call leg associated with each secondary directory number, and the mobile switching center further providing secondary treatment of each outgoing call leg in accordance with its corresponding originating no answer time parameter. In the preferred embodiment, each corresponding originating no answer time parameter, for each outgoing call leg, is less than a corresponding terminating no answer time parameter which may be utilized by a terminating switch or end office.

The home location register has, stored in a memor y, a plurality of secondary directory numbers associated with a primary directory number, and includes instructions to determine whether each secondary directory number, of the plurality of secondary directory numbers, is currently incorporated within a selected alerting group based upon a predefined time period parameter or a geographic location parameter for a mobile unit corresponding to the secondary directory number. The mobile switching center has an interface for receiving an incoming call leg designating the primary directory number and for differentially processing and routing each outgoing call leg associated with each secondary directory number currently incorporated within the selected alerting group.
