Abstract: Systems and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, an asynchronous system includes a first wireless node having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture including a first RF signal having a first packet. The system also includes a second wireless node having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the first wireless node in the wireless network architecture including a second RF signal with a second packet. The one or more processing units of the first wireless node are configured to execute instructions to determine a coarse time of flight estimate of the first and second packets and a fine time estimate of the time of flight using channel information of the first and second wireless nodes.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, a system for localization of nodes in a wireless network architecture, comprises a wireless node having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture; and a plurality of wireless sensor nodes having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the wireless node in the wireless network architecture. One or more processing units of the wireless node are configured to execute instructions to determine ranging data including a set of possible ranges between the wireless node and the plurality of wireless sensor nodes having unknown locations, and to associate a set of relative locations within an environment of the wireless network architecture with the wireless node and the plurality of wireless sensor nodes.

Abstract: Systems and apparatuses for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, an asynchronous system includes first and second wireless nodes each having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture. The system also includes a third wireless node having an unknown location and a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable communications with the first and second wireless nodes in the wireless network architecture. The one or more processing units of the first wireless node are configured to transmit instructions to a cloud based entity or execute instructions to determine a location coordinate hypothesis and a transmit time hypothesis for a transmitted communication of the third wireless node, determine an error function associated with the transmit time hypothesis for each received path j of the receiving first and second wireless nodes at the location coordinate hypothesis, and determine a probability function of the error function for each received path j of the first and second wireless nodes using statistical properties of path measurement accuracy.
