Abstract:
Systems and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, an asynchronous system includes a first wireless node having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture including a first RF signal having a first packet. The system also includes a second wireless node having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the first wireless node in the wireless network architecture including a second RF signal with a second packet. The one or more processing units of the first wireless node are configured to execute instructions to determine a coarse time of flight estimate of the first and second packets and a fine time estimate of the time of flight using channel information of the first and second wireless nodes.

Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, a system for localization of nodes in a wireless network architecture, comprises a wireless node having a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture; and a plurality of wireless sensor nodes having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the wireless node in the wireless network architecture. One or more processing units of the wireless node are configured to execute instructions to determine ranging data including a set of possible ranges between the wireless node and the plurality of wireless sensor nodes having unknown locations, and to associate a set of relative locations within an environment of the wireless network architecture with the wireless node and the plurality of wireless sensor nodes.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for determining locations of wireless nodes in a network architecture are disclosed herein. In one example, a system for localization of nodes in a wireless network architecture comprises a plurality of wireless anchor nodes each having a known location and a wireless device with one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in the wireless network architecture and a wireless node having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the plurality of wireless anchor nodes in the wireless network architecture. One or more processing units of at least one of the plurality of wireless anchor nodes are configured to execute instructions to determine a set of possible ranges between each anchor node and the wireless node having an unknown location and to perform a triangulation algorithm that iterates through possible locations of the wireless node to minimize error.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system includes a hub having one or more processing units and RF circuitry for transmitting and receiving communications in a wireless network architecture. The system includes a plurality of sensor nodes each having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional communications with the hub in the wireless network architecture. The one or more processing units of the hub are configured to execute instructions to determine a first scheduled timing of causing the transmitter to be operable to transmit and causing the receiver to be operable to receive for each wireless device based on a periodic beacon signal of the hub.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for using radio frequency signals and sensors to monitor environments (e.g., indoor environments) are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a system for providing a wireless asymmetric network comprises a hub having one or more processing units and at least one antenna for transmitting and receiving radio frequency (RF) communications in the wireless asymmetric network and a plurality of sensor nodes each having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver to enable bi-directional RF communications with the hub in the wireless asymmetric network. The one or more processing units of the hub are configured to execute instructions to determine at least one of motion and occupancy within the wireless asymmetric network based on a power level of the RF communications.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for implementing power management features while providing a wireless asymmetric network are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a system includes a hub having a wireless control device that is configured to control communications and power consumption in the wireless asymmetric network architecture. The system also includes a plurality of nodes each having a wireless device with a transmitter and a receiver (or transmitter and receiver functionality of a transceiver) to enable bi-directional communications with the wireless control device of the hub in the wireless asymmetric network architecture. The wireless control device can be configured to determine a scheduled timing of causing the transmitter to be operable to transmit and causing the receiver to be operable to receive for each wireless device to reduce power consumption of the wireless devices of the plurality of nodes.
