Abstract: A window assembly includes outer and inner window panels and a coilable and uncoilable roller shade having a first electrically conductive layer. A dielectric layer is disposed between the roller shade and the inner window panel. A second electrically conductive layer is disposed between the dielectric layer and the roller shade and a third electrically conductive layer is disposed between the dielectric layer and the window panel. A driver circuit having first, second and third driver circuit portions for electrically connecting to respective ones of the first, second and third electrically conductive layers. The driver circuit is operable to electrically connect the second electrically conductive layer to a positive or negative high voltage power bus and to electrically connect the third electrically conductive layer to the negative or positive high voltage power bus to balance a charge across the dielectric layer.
