    Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger arranged such that a plurality of groups of cuttouts are formed on the surfaces of flat fins as between vertically adjacent heat transfer tubes by providing a plurality of cutouts, including two openings extending transverse to the direction of the air flow and two legs nonparallel with said direction of the air flow, on the front and reverse sides of the flat fins. This arrangement remarkably reduces the heat resistance between the air and the fin surfaces. Since the plurality of cutouts or the plurality of groups of cutouts are formed in the identical configuration, maintenance of a mold can be facilitated.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger is provided in an air conditioner, refrigerator or the like, and is provided for the indirect transmission and reception of heat between fluids. The heat exchanger comprises a plurality of flat plate fins which are arranged parallel to one another at predetermined intervals so as to allow air stream to flow therebetween, and a plurality of heat transfer tubes passing through the flat plate fins for allowing a fluid to flow therethrough. Each fin is provided with a number of groups of air vents arranged to cross the wake side of the air stream. Each of the air vents is defined by a slat having four sides in which two sides, facing the air stream, are opened and other two sides are provided with leg portions for connecting the slat with the fin. The leg portions are aligned with each other and are inclined with respect to the normal line of the leading edge of the fin. With the above structure, a swirling and a turbulent component of air are induced in the air stream flowing between the fins thereby improving the heat transfer efficiency of the fins.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a fin tube heat exchanger used in an air conditioner or the like. The heat exchanger is comprised of a plurality of fin plates spaced at regular intervals in parallel with one another and a plurality of heat exchanger tubes arranged in at least one row and extending through the fin plates in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the fin plates extend. The invention provides a plurality of raised strips formed on each fin plate in a direction perpendicular to an air flow and raised out of the plane of the fin plate, and at least one draining passage formed on each fin plate and extending along the center line of the row of the heat exchanger tubes. In this heat exchanger, air flows between the fin plates and a fluid medium passes through the heat exchanger tubes. Each raised strip has two leg portions which are inclined with respect to the direction of the air flow. The raised strips in one row near to a longitudinal edge of the fin plate are increased in number as compared with those in another row near to the center line of the row of the heat exchanger tubes. No raised strip is formed in the draining passage.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cutting surface and an erected piece of a plate of a plate-like fin from being deformed by providing a pressing member brought into contact with the upper surface of the plate-like fin before an upper blade reaches the upper surface of the plate-like fin to clamp the plate-like fin from both surfaces with a lower blade. SOLUTION: With lowering of an upper slitter block 18, a pressing member 19 is also lowered to come into contact with the plate-like fin 11 and simultaneously press the plate-like fin 11 by elastic force of a spring 20. With the plate- like fin 11 pressed by the pressing member 19, an upper blade 16 is brought into contact with the plate-like fin 11 to cut the plate-like fin 11 with a lower blade 15 by shearing force thereof. Thus, the plate-like fin 11 is pressed by the pressing member and cut, so that the cutting surface 14 of the plate-like fin 11 is kept from being deformed. Furthermore, an erected piece 13 of the plate will not be also deformed so that an opening part of the erected piece 13 of the plate is not blocked.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To branch fluid into a header and a groove uniformly and improve heat exchanging performance remarkably by a method wherein a collision wall is provided between an inlet tube and the fluid inlet part of an end plate while a plate, having small holes whose sectional area at the outside of the plate is larger than the same near the inlet tube of the fluid, is provided between the end plate and a heat exchanging plate to duffuse the fluid by the collision wall and change the resistance of the fluid by the plate having small holes. CONSTITUTION:Fluid, entered through an inlet tube 15, is diffused by colliding against a collision wall 16, passes through the small holes 12a of a plate 12 and a header 17, branched into grooves 14 and flows out. Then, the fluid is collected into another header 17 and flows out of an outlet tube. Accordingly, the fluid can be diffused sufficiently by the collision of the fluid against the collision wall 16 while the sectional area of the small holes 12a of a plate 12 at the outer side of the same is larger than the sectional area of the small holes 12a near an inlet port whereby the resistance of the fluid at the outer side of the plate 12 is smaller than the same near the inlet port and the fluid can flow into headers 17, 18 under uniform condition while the fluid can be branched uniformly into the grooves 14 and heat exchanging performance can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit the restriction of breeding of fungus or bacteria even when fins are used under a circumstance, in which the fungus or the bacteria is readily breeded by adding mildewproofing agent into a hydrophilic coating layer on the surface of the aluminum fins. CONSTITUTION:In fins for a heat exchanger, which are made by forming a coating layer on the surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy, the coating layer is formed of a hydrophilic coating layer of water dispersible silica or the like containing mildewproofing agent or surface-active agent. The coating of water dispersible silica or the like including the mildewproofing agent or agents, in which the mildewproofing agent and the surface-active agent are blended properly, is coated on the surface of the fins under a condition that the coating is still a coating before baking and curing and, then, the coating is cured by baking or reaction to form the hydrophilic coating film. By adding the surface- active agent, the surface-active agent is eluted simultaneously with the eluation of the constituent of the mildewpeoofing agent on the surface of the hydrophilic coating film on the fins when dewing is generated on the surface of the fins whereby mildewproofing effect and bacteria-proofing effect for the surface of the fins may become more remarkable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To promote turbulent flow as well as the leading edge effect of boundary layer and improve heat transfer coefficient, by a method wherein a plate fin is provided with cut-and-raised parts, opened in airflow, between heat transfer tubes while the configuration, the number and the like of the cut-and-raised parts are specified. CONSTITUTION:Cut-and raised parts 14a-14c, opened in airflow B, are provided on a plate fin 11 between heat transfer tubes 13 by a method wherein a flat base board is set on the center line of a plate fin 11 between the heat transfer tubes 13 and leg parts 15a-15c, whereat the cut-and-raised parts 14a-14c are connected to the plate fin 11, are provided alternately in up-and-down direction so as to pinch the base board of the plate fin 11 and have a certain angle between the direction of a normal line of the leading edge of the plate fin 11 while the number of the cut-and-raised parts 14a-14c is increased from the center between the heat transfer tubes 13 toward the end of the plate fin 11 and the height (h) of the cut-and-raised part is formed so as to be 1/2 substantially of the pitch Pf of the plate fin 11. The leading edge effect of boundary layer and the efficiency of the fin may be improved by the method above- described while turbulent flow may be promoted and heat transfer performance may be improved.
