    Abstract: A defrosting heater for heating and removing frost deposits collected and adhered on a cooler of a refrigeration cycle packed with a flammable refrigerant, comprising a glass tube (53), a heater wire (53) of metal resistance element installed in the glass tube, a plug (58) covering both end openings of the glass tube (53), a lead wire (55) penetrating through the plug (58) and connected to the end of the heater wire (53), and a positioning plate disposed at the junction and held by the plug for preventing the junction of the heater wire and lead wire from moving, wherein the size of the gap (58b) formed between the plug (58)and the positioning plate (59) is set depending on the packing amount of the flammable refrigerant and a preset surface temperature of the heater wire (53).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing antibody whose air duct resistance is minimized and which has antimicrobial performance without any necessity of long- time maintenance by preparing a deodorizing body from catalyst composed of a porous substance formed from a transition metal by ion exchange, adsorbent composed of activated carbon, and a binder. SOLUTION: A necessary deodorizing body is prepared from catalyst composed of a porous substance formed from a transition metal by ion exchange, adsorbent composed of activated carbon, and binder. In using, when subtle air containing a malodorous component is made to pass through the deodorizer body, the malodorous component is adsorbed and removed by the catalyst mainly performing chemical adsorption action and the activated carbon mainly performing physical adsorption action so that the adsorbed substance is changed into a low-malodor substance or made into an odorless substance by oxidation of the transition metal ion quickly worked as the catalyst. Bacteria and spore of fungus floating in air are sterilized by the transition metal ion of a porous substance formed by ion exchange with the transition metal in the deodorizing body in passing the deodorizing body.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defrosting heater which prevents inflammable refrigerant from catching fire even in the case that defrosting operation is carried out under an environment where leakage of the refrigerant occurs. SOLUTION: The defrosting heater is constituted of first glass tube 53, second glass tube 54 installed so as to cover the outer circumference of the tube 53, a heater wire 52 comprised of a metal resistive element which is installed inside the first glass tube 53, a stopper 58 blocking up openings of both ends of the first glass tube 53 and the second glass tube 54, and a lead wire 55 penetrating the stopper 58 and being connected to an end of the heater wire 52. A connection part of the heater wire 52 and a code 55 is provided with a positioning plate 57 which is held by the stopper 58 and which prevents the connection part from deviating. The size of clearances 58b formed by the stopper 58 and the positioning plate 57 is arranged in accordance with an amount of the trapped inflammable refrigerant and a surface temperature of the heater wire 52 during current-carrying to the heater wire 52. Therefore, since flame is not propagated, safety is kept at all times.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high performance deodorizing antibacterial apparatus which is inexpensive, has a simple mechanism, and does not need maintenance for a long period by driving a fan for supplying air to a deodorizing antibacterial catalyst consisting of manganese dioxide, metal oxide, etc. SOLUTION: In an air passage 21 for circulating air in a refrigerator, air is introduced from an air suction port 22 and discharged from an air discharge opening 23, and a fan 24 is driven by a driving device 25. A deodorizing antibacterial catalyst 30 is set in the passage 21. The catalyst 30 is composed at least of manganese dioxide, oxide of copper, iron, etc., active carbon, zeolite, and a binder. When air containing offensive odor components is passed through the catalyst 30 by the fan 24, the components are adsorbed first by active carbon and zeolite to be deodorized promptly by the catalytic action, and bacteria are removed simultaneously. In this way, deodorizing and antibacterial effects can be attained very simply.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain an excellent deodorization effect on dimethyl sulfide by incorporating β type zeolite into a deodorant. SOLUTION: A deodorizing device comprises a nichrome wire 1 as a heating element and a catalyst coating layer 3 contg. the β type zeolite formed on the surface of this heating element. As a result, the air contg. malodorous components comes into contact with the catalyst coating layer 3 and absorbs the malodorous materials in the β type zeolite of the catalyst layer 3 when the nichrome wire 1 does not generate heat. The precious metal in the catalyst layer 3 is heated to its activation temp. and the malodorous components adsorbed thus far in the β type zeolite is made odorless and are released into the atmosphere when the nichrome wire generates heat. Simultaneously, the adsorption capability of the β type zeolite is regenerated. The β type zeolite has the excellent adsorbability to the dimethyl sulfide and, therefore, the βtype zeolite is capable of exhibiting the excellent deodorization effect on the dimethyl sulfide.
