    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve deodorizing performance and the regeneration efficiency of an adsorbent relating to a deodorizing element carrying a photocatalyst and the adsorbent. SOLUTION: Energy of a level at which the desorption of an odorous material does not occur is applied by using a heating means 4 to the adsorbent 2 simultaneously with the irradiation of the photocatalyst 3 with light, by which the diffusion rate of the odorous material from the adsorbent 2 to the photocatalyst 3 is increased and the deodorizing rate in a low concentration region may be improved and the deodorizing capability of the adsorbent may be efficiently regenerated.

SOLUTION: By installing a filter where an oxygen scavenger is filled in a form where the inside of the body of an accumulator 7 is divided into upper and lower spaces at a position that is at the upper portion of the opening of a refrigerant-leading pipe 12 and where an actuation medium being injected from the opening of a refrigerant-introducing pipe 12 does not directly collide, oxygen in a refrigeration system is effectively eliminated, the generation of carbon dioxide and a refrigerator oil polymer due to the decomposition of a refrigerator oil can be prevented and also powdering of the oxygen scavenger 14 can be prevented, thus improving system reliability.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abrasion of the sliding parts in a compressor by disposing a permanent magnet on the lower end plate of a gas/liquid separator body directly below an oil return hole made in a coolant supply tube thereby preventing iron powder, or the like, supplied through the oil return hole into the gas/liquid separator body from intruding into the compressor along with an oil. SOLUTION: At the time of operating the refrigeration circuit of an air conditioner, or the like, iron powder or iron chips being left internally during manufacture of the components of refrigeration circuit, e.g. a compressor, and iron powder produced during initial abrasion of the sliding components in the compressor are mixed with coolant or oil and circulated through the refrigeration circuit. The coolant and the oil flow into a gas/liquid separator body 1 in front of the compressor as a mixture of liquid coolant and oil at the time of cooling operation and as a mixture of gas coolant and oil at the time of warming operation. The iron powder flowing into the gas/liquid separator body 1 begins to flow into the compressor through the oil return hole 7 of a coolant supply tube, but it is captured surely by a permanent magnet 8 disposed on the lower end plate 4 directly under the oil return hole 7.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure reliability over a long period of time by eliminating from the refrigerating system extraneous matter such as dust, metal powder, machine oil, and carboxylate. SOLUTION: The number 12 in diagram indicates a capillary tube which seizes extraneous matter such as dust, metal powder, machine oil, and carboxylate. First and second copper pipes 13, 14 are connected to the capillary tube 12, the one on the side of a dryer 6 and the other on the side of an indoor heat exchanger 9 respectively. The first and second copper pipes 13, 14 are connected respectively to a system piping 15 on the side of the dryer 6 and to a piping 16 on the side of the indoor heat exchanger 9 in a manner of being detachable and replaceable. Moreover, first and second valves 18, 19 which each can stop a flow of refrigerant are set, the first valve in the system piping 15 on the side of the dryer 6 and close to the first copper pipe 13 and the second valve in the system piping on the side of a four-wave valve 3 for the indoor heat exchanger 9. This constitution permits the capillary tube 12 to be replaced in a simple manner and enables obtaining an air conditioner which ensures reliability over a long period of time.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional panel with humidity control function which can control the suction and drain of moisture by making water molecules passing through a porous body to be held or absorbed temporarily by a water- absorbing polymer layer or a water-absorbing rubber layer and letting loose the moisture through a porous body layer due to a thermal load by a heating element. SOLUTION: A porous body 2 for securing the structural strength of a functional panel and as a passage for the atmosphere and water molecules between a water-absorbing polymer material 1 or a water-absorbing rubber material 1 which absorbs moisture in the atmosphere and, at the same time, again lets loose the moisture by a thermal load to be applied by a heating element, is arranged on the upper face of the material 1. In this case, the water-absorbing polymer material 1 is made to contain either of cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylamide or polyoxyethylene. Further, a ceramic, a porous glass or the like is used as the porous body 2. Consequently, it is possible to absorb and again let loose the atmospheric moisture and artificially adjust the relative humidity of a room space so that it rises or drops.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure stability of the performance of a refrigerating cycle over a long period of time in the case where use is made of a refrigerant containing hydrofluorocarbon and a refrigerating machine oil of polyol ester as working mediums by disposing a mechanism for scavenging organic acids and free metallic ions. SOLUTION: A mechanism for scavenging organic acids and free metallic ions is disposed in a refrigerating cycle. To put it in detail, the mechanism has a structure combining a moisture absorbent, a weakly basic ion exchange resin, and a chelating resin, that is, for example, the moisture absorbent 7 in beads, the ion exchange resin 8 in beads, and the chelating resin 9 in beads are stuck in a mesh 10 and placed in a container 11 which permits the passage of working fluid. In a refrigerating cycle having a refrigerating compressor, condenser, expansion mechanism, and evaporator each equipped with such a scavenging mechanism 12 for organic acids and free metallic ions the performance can be stabilized over a lond period of time.

SOLUTION: A filth-recovering apparatus is composed of a recovery vessel 7 which holes the filth inside, a fan 3 which allows the air to circulate inside a vessel 1 housing the above-mentioned recovery vessel, a honeycomb body 5 having a thin film comprising a metal oxide containing titanium oxide and a light source 4 which emits light irradiating the honeycomb body. The air 2 containing the odorant and floating bacteria generated by the filth is brought into contact with the above-mentioned honeycomb body 5 to allow the odorant and floating bacteria to be adsorbed and attached to the honeycomb body and to be decomposed via oxidation utilizing a photocatalytic effect of the irradiation from the light source to deodorize and sterilize the recovery vessel 7.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an efficient adsorption and chemical removal of non- condensing gas components generated when a refrigerating machine oil is decomposed by packing a fibrous filter and a porous material formed into a grain mainly composed of a synthetic zeolite into a space divided by a metallic mesh. SOLUTION: A fibrous filter 2 reduces friction between porous materials for removing a non-condensing gaseous phase component other than a refrigerant and traps worn dust to be prevented from entering into a refrigerating system even when parts of the porous materials 1 are powered. Metallic meshes 3 keep the porous materials 1 and the fibrous filter 2 in a fixed space and a spring 4 is provided to block the vibration of the porous materials 1 and the fibrous filter 2 packed into the space which is sandwiched between the metallic meshes 3. In this process, the porous materials 1 comprise an inorganic compound such as natural zeolite, synthetic zeolite, silica gel or molecular sheaving carbon.
