    Abstract: A transverse spindle(20) which is guided in rectilinear translation is mounted on the slidable element(19a) such as a vehicle sliding roof. A driving gear pinion(21) meshed with a fixed longitudinal rack(3) is fixed on the spindle. The device comprises a toothed member(5) which is pivotally mounted on the front end of the rack and has a set of teeth(8) including a curved front portion & a rectilinear rear portion(10). A device is provided for constraining the pinion to remain meshed with the curved portion at the end of the closing travel.

Connected to a single unit having a plurality of slide valves are an expansion vessel, transmitting pumps controlling the unlatching, a receiving unlatching fluid motor and one or more pumps controlling the locking of the latch. Depending on which slide valves and pumps are employed, it is possible to achieve at will one or more of the various locking functions required in automobile vehicle latches.

    Abstract: AN ELECTRIC MOTOR-SPEED REDUCER UNIT, IN PARTICULAR FOR MOVING MOVABLE ELEMENTS OF AN AUTOMOBILE VEHICLE This motor-speed reducer unit comprises a small electric motor (4) which is normally incapable of effecting the desired operational cycle and which has a converted armature winding, a resistance (5) exterior to the motor and in series with the armature winding, and a speed reducer (7). A judicious choice of the winding, of the exterior resistance and of the ratio of the speed reducer permits the obtainment of the required performances without excessive heating of the motor with a great saving in weight and overall size.

    Abstract: The actuator comprises the following elements: (a) an electric motor (2) capable of driving in rotation a reversible lead-screw (3) on which is mounted a carriage (4) which is freely slidable and mechanically connected to a lever for locking the latch; (b) a nut (6) mounted on the lead-screw (3) within the carriage, prevented from rotating by a guiding of the nut within the carriage and provided, on one hand, with an elastically yieldable element (7) compressible between the carriage (4) and the screw (3) so as to return the nut (6) when the element (7) is compressed, and, on the other hand, with a stud (8) adapted to cooperate with ramps (9, 10, 11, 12) formed on a cam (13) vertically movable in the case by the movement in translation of the nut (6) and the stud (8) controlling the cam (13); (c) the cam (13) is provided with a shoe (15) capable of bolting the carriage (4) in the electrically locked position when it has been displaced to its uppermost position by the stud (8) sliding on the ramps, whereby any manual unlocking of the latch is prevented.
