Abstract: A transverse spindle(20) which is guided in rectilinear translation is mounted on the slidable element(19a) such as a vehicle sliding roof. A driving gear pinion(21) meshed with a fixed longitudinal rack(3) is fixed on the spindle. The device comprises a toothed member(5) which is pivotally mounted on the front end of the rack and has a set of teeth(8) including a curved front portion & a rectilinear rear portion(10). A device is provided for constraining the pinion to remain meshed with the curved portion at the end of the closing travel.

Abstract: A safety device for a motor-operated window regulator used for raising and lowering the window of a vehicle including an elongated sheath which is elastically deformable located outside the plane of the window for detecting the presence of an obstacle hindering the closure of the window. Electric conductors are positioned within such sheath and such conductors are slightly separated and adapted to contact each other upon a light deformation of the sheath by such obstacle. A device is responsive to the contact of the conductors for reversing the operation of the motor thereby preventing any risk of accidental closure of the window.

THE PINION OF THE SPEED REDUCING MECHANISM IS DRIVEN BY A FLEXIBLE CABLE CONNECTED TO AN ELECTRIC MOTOR THROUGH A SPEED REDUCER MOUNTED ON THE SHAFT OF THE ELECTRIC MOTOR.
