Abstract: The present invention relates to a moisture sensor device (100) for measuring moisture content in soil. The moisture sensor device (100) comprises of a sensor unit and a handle member (120). The sensor unit (110) includes a sensor element (111) connected to a sensor circuit board. The sensor circuit board is enclosed in the handle member (120) while the sensor element (111) is exposed to allow direct contact with the soil. The handle member includes a distal end having a slanted surface, a thumb indentation (123) at its front surface, an indentation portion (124) and a humpbacked portion (125) at its rear part, and a connecting portion (127) at each side.
