Abstract: A wireless access device (100), system (200) and method for routing multicast traffic for nodes between a first network and a second network have been disclosed. The wireless access device (100) comprises a backhaul module (10) for receiving packets from the first network and a multicast module (40) for checking the multicast translation table (90) and converting the multicast packets to a Multimedia Access Control (MAC) layer unicast packet. The multicast module (40) is further adapted for forwarding the MAC layer unicast packets to the access module (70) through the second bridge module (60). The access module (70) is adapted for forwarding the MAC layer unicast packets to subscribed nodes on the second network.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for multicast forwarding over an OpenFlow based network that can save bandwidth and improve transmission efficiency. The system comprises an OpenFlow switch (100) and an OpenFlow controller (200) for managing the OpenFlow switch (100) using OpenFlow protocol. The OpenFlow controller (200) comprises a packet handler (201) for performing identification of a packet-in message, a mapping handler (202) for maintaining one or more multicast address tables, a node status handler (203) subscribing a node service module (206) for detecting location change of the nodes and port subscription, and a group table updater (204) for converting response data of a notification received from the packet handler (201) or the node status handler (203) into an equivalent action bucket. The method comprises the steps of receiving a packet-in message; and processing the packet-in message (301), thereby generating a packet-out message for transmission to the OpenFlow switch (309). Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for multicast packet transmission in a wireless network. The system (100) allocates each client device a separate multicast queue for transmitting multicast packets. The queue size is adjusted depending on whether a multicast packet was successfully transmitted to a client device or not. For each failed transmission, the multicast queue size for the client device is reduced by a certain configurable factor until a minimum threshold is reached, wherein the multicast queue for the client device is deleted if the minimum threshold is reached. For each successful transmission, the multicast queue size for the client device is increased until a maximum queue size limit is reached.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a system and a method for authorising an access point in a network without involving client device. The present invention identifies (10) and lists only access point that has the same SSID as the network (11) and then checks the access point for MAC address validity (20). Only access point with valid SSID and MAC address has an authentication string (30). The authentication string and a scanner public key are encrypted using a server public key in a scanner (800) (40). The scanner (800) then sends the encrypted authentication string and the encrypted scanner public key to a server (900) via the access point (50) to be decrypted (60). Then, the server (900) encrypts the authentication string using the decrypted scanner public key (45) and sends the encrypted authentication string to the scanner (800) (55). The scanner (800) that receives the encrypted authentication string decrypts the authentication string using a scanner private key (65) and compares it (70) with the authentication string from before the encryption and decryption process. If a match is found, the access point is authorised and possibly overcame 3 spoofing attacks in the network.
