Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for object tracking and image projection which may be used for a surveillance system or for providing information to users by way of a display adjacent to users within the monitored area. The system comprises a video camera (200), a light projector (208), housing for the light projector (210), a plurality of motors (202,204,206) for providing movements to the light projector (208), a support pole (216) and a mirror (212) for enabling the light projector (208) to illuminate or project images at the targeted object for tracking by way of reflecting therefore diverting the illumination from the light projector (208). There is further provided a control and processing system (300) connected to the projector (208) and the camera (200) for providing overall system control and further processing of the captured images by the camera (200). The system of the present invention provides continuous tracking of an object within the monitored area upon suitably prompted by the control and processing system (300).

A method for controlling the surveillance system is also provided herewith.

The method for assigning machine readable instructions for detection rules further comprises creating equivalent triples for surveillance ontology (908, 1210), extracting triples information and arranging triples information into RDF (resource, predicate and data format) triples (910,1212}, processing RDF triples into variable title and data (912, 1214) and providing configuration file in readable format to be used by surveillance system (914, 1216). Further, the method for assigning machine readable instructions for detection rules further comprises creating equivalent triples for surveillance ontology (1218}, extracting all permutation and assigning code to each event to produce semantic rule file (1220) and creating and storing response to response dictionary to be used by surveillance system (1222). The method for accessing resource configuration file and rule files in surveillance system further comprises opening resource configuration file or semantic rule file or response semantic rule file (1302, 1304, 1306), reading data from known data variables (1308), reading rules and applying condition in detection module (1310), initializing variable and configuration (1312) and displaying image based on acquired image (1314). Abstract: There is disclosed a method and system for detecting the presence of an object within a restricted zone that comprises of a computerized means (1), an image capturing means (2) having connection to the computerized means and adapted to capture image pair, a software resides in the memory device that once executed, performs intrusion analysis based on images captured by the image capturing means; characterized in that the intrusion analysis is performed by processing the captured image pair to obtain parallax information (10), estimating the position of an object in the image in a depth plane (11), and determining whether the object position collides within the restricted zone (12). If the object position collided within the restrictive zone, entry to the restrictive zone is considered as intrusion. The parallax information is calculated by first shifting (20) one of the image pair toward the other such that the images are overlapping and thereafter recording the number (21) of the overlapping pixels. The shift that has the most overlapping pixels is selected to be the selected parallax value and will be compared against values in the parallax checklist and if the selected parallax value falls within the values in the restricted zone, it is an intrusion into the restrictive zone.
