    Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a toner container is provided for stocking a toner. In a body of the image forming apparatus, an opening is provided for supplying the toner to the toner container, and an opening cover for closing the opening when the toner is not supplied to the toner container. In the toner container, a rotator is provided so as to discharge the toner from the toner container into a developing device via a toner feed device. Moreover, the image forming apparatus includes an opening cover detector and a control section. The opening cover detector detects whether the opening cover is opened, and the control section prevents the rotator from driving when the opening cover detector detects that the opening cover is opened.

    Abstract: An exposure adjustment device for an electrostatic copying apparatus provides that electric power of an exposure lamp is controlled by pressing a key so as to cause copy density over a surface of a photoconductive member to be adjusted. The exposure lamp is energized electrically subsequent to change a of copy density from a set level to a standard level predetermined for obtaining an ordinary copy when a period predetermined by a timer elapses after copying operation finished and/or after the key is operated. This results in that the copy density of exposure is accomplished properly even if an operator forgets to adjust the copy density of exposure.

    Abstract: A photoconductive drum device for electrostatic copying machines or the like which comprises a temperature maintaining heater (1) bent to a cylindrical form and accommodated in the main body of a photoconductive drum. The heater comprises a base plate (5) and a heat generator (6) attached to the base plate (5). The base plate (5) has a parallelogrammatic form substantially corresponding to a shape which is obtained by cutting a hollow cylinder. having a diameter approximate to the inside diameter of the drum main body, along a helical cut line and unbending the cylinder. A temperature censor (21) is disposed in the interior of the drum, his position with respect to the longitudinal direction of the drum is approximately in the middle between a highest temperature portion of the drum and a portion thereof having a low temperature due to the removal of heat by copy paper during the operation of the drum.

    Abstract: Copy paper feeding device for a copying apparatus which comprises a plurality of cassettes 12, 13 capable of stroing copy paper sheets and feeding means corresponding to each of cassettes 12, 13 respectively. Each feeding means is driven selectively to feed the copy paper sheets in the case where the cassettes 12, 13 store the copy paper sheets having different sizes, and each feeding means is driven in a predetermined order to feed the copy paper sheets from one cassette 12 or 13 until the cassette 12 or 13 is vacant, then feed the copy paper sheets from the remaining cassette 13 or 12 successively in the case where the cassettes 12, 13 store the copy paper sheets having a same size. The copy paper feeding device includes the means which is situated corresponding to feeding means respectively for selecting a given feeding means to be driven.

    Abstract: A copying apparatus includes a copy paper cutting device which is operated when an original document or an optical device for exposure reaches a predetermined position. The original document or the optical device is stopped when a trailing edge of a copy paper is detected. After at least the leading edge of the copy paper passes through the copy paper cutting device, the copy paper is fed out entirely from an apparatus frame without operating the copy paper cutting device. This results in that the last copy paper sheet of the roll of copy paper is not shorter than the distance between transport rollers in the copy paper passageway to prevent a copy paper jam.
