Abstract: A copy feed control is for a photocopier and has detectors on the copy feed and the document scanner to control the copy feed cutter to provide copy lengths corresponding to the document length. The return path of the scanner is used to cut off lengths of copy for multiple copies, for a rapid throughout. The copy feed detectors are linked to a fail-safe control which stops the copy cycle and operates the copy feed to eject a copy sheet of insufficient length eg. at the end of the copy roll, and without the short copy jamming the machine. The copy cutter (14) is fitted with a first detector (S1) and monitors the trailing edge of the copy. A second detector (S2) monitors the reciprocating drive for the document scanner.

Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a toner container is provided for stocking a toner. In a body of the image forming apparatus, an opening is provided for supplying the toner to the toner container, and an opening cover for closing the opening when the toner is not supplied to the toner container. In the toner container, a rotator is provided so as to discharge the toner from the toner container into a developing device via a toner feed device. Moreover, the image forming apparatus includes an opening cover detector and a control section. The opening cover detector detects whether the opening cover is opened, and the control section prevents the rotator from driving when the opening cover detector detects that the opening cover is opened.

Abstract: An exposure adjustment device for an electrostatic copying apparatus provides that electric power of an exposure lamp is controlled by pressing a key so as to cause copy density over a surface of a photoconductive member to be adjusted. The exposure lamp is energized electrically subsequent to change a of copy density from a set level to a standard level predetermined for obtaining an ordinary copy when a period predetermined by a timer elapses after copying operation finished and/or after the key is operated. This results in that the copy density of exposure is accomplished properly even if an operator forgets to adjust the copy density of exposure.

A temperature censor (21) is disposed in the interior of the drum, his position with respect to the longitudinal direction of the drum is approximately in the middle between a highest temperature portion of the drum and a portion thereof having a low temperature due to the removal of heat by copy paper during the operation of the drum.

The copy paper feeding device includes the means which is situated corresponding to feeding means respectively for selecting a given feeding means to be driven.

Abstract: A copying apparatus includes a copy paper cutting device which is operated when an original document or an optical device for exposure reaches a predetermined position. The original document or the optical device is stopped when a trailing edge of a copy paper is detected. After at least the leading edge of the copy paper passes through the copy paper cutting device, the copy paper is fed out entirely from an apparatus frame without operating the copy paper cutting device. This results in that the last copy paper sheet of the roll of copy paper is not shorter than the distance between transport rollers in the copy paper passageway to prevent a copy paper jam.
