    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a carbonate type lubricating oil composition useful for an engine oil, gear oil, etc., having a superior lubricating property, cleaning property and heat resistance, constituted by containing a specific ratio of each specific dialkylcarbonate, phosphite compound and hindered phenol. CONSTITUTION:This carbonate type lubricating composition is constituted by containing (A) 100 (wt.) pt. of a dialkylcarbonate of formula I (R and R are each a 1-50C alkyl, and a total number of C of R and R is 10 or more), having a molecular weight of 200-5000 and a kinetic viscosity at 100 deg.C of 2-100cSt, (B) 0.01-2 pt. of a phosphite compound of formula II (R to R are each a 1-20C alkyl; Ar to Ar are each a phenylene or naphthylene), having a molecular weight of 300-3000 [e.g. tris(nonylphenyl)phosphite, etc.], and (C) 0.01-2 pt. of a hindered phenolic compound having a molecular weight of 300-2000 (e.g. dodecyl gallate, etc.).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject inexpensive composition excellent in mechanical strength, heat resistance, weather resistance, etc., and having self-lubricity by compounding an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer with a specific polyol carbonate.
