    Abstract: A lubricating oil containing an aromatic ether compound represented by the general formula (R1)nPh-O-(R2O)mR3, wherein nR1s represent each independently a specified hydrocarbon group, a hydrocarbon group having an ether linkage, or a hydrocarbon group having an alkoxy group or a halogen atom; mR2s represent each independently a C2-C4 alkylene group; R3 represents a C1-C12 hydrocarbon group; Ph represents an aromatic substituent; n represents an integer of 1 to 5; and m represents an integer of 1 to 30. This oil is excellent in lubricity, cleanness and electrical insulation, has a high viscosity and excellent sealing and antiwear characteristics, and is excellent in compatibility with R134a and the like. Hence it is suited for use as a lubricant for refrigerators using R-134a as the refrigerant, such as electric refrigerators and room airconditioners.

    Abstract: A triphenol type compound represented by the following formula: wherein R₁ , R₂ , R₃ , R₄ , R₅ and R₆ independently represent hydrogen, a halogen, a C₁-C₅ alkyl group or a C₁-C₅ alkoxy group.The triphenol type compound can be used, as a branching agent, for the production of a polycarbonate comprising (A) a carbonic acid component unit, (B) a divalent phenol component unit, and (C) a triphenol type compound component unit derived from the above-mentioned triphenol type compound. The triphenol type compound unit (C) is used in an amount 0. 0.01 to 10 mole%, based on the divalent phenol component unit (B) and the intrinsic viscosity [η], determined at 25°C in methylene chloride, of the polycarbonate is 0.4 to 1.0 dl/g and the glass transition temperature (Tg), determined by a differential scanning type calorimeter is 150°C to 300°C.

    Abstract: TRIPHENOL TYPE COMPOUND AND POLYCARBONATE POLYMER AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREOF A triphenol type compound represented by the following formula: wherein R1 , R2 , R3 , R4 , R5 and R6 independently represent hydrogen, a halogen, a C1-C5 alkyl group or a C1-C5 alkoxy group. The triphenol type compound can be used, as a branching agent, for the production of a polycarbonate comprising (A) a carbonic acid component unit, (B) a divalent phenol component unit, and (C) a triphenol type compound component unit derived from the above-mentioned triphenol type compound. The triphenol type compound unit (C) is used in an amount of 0.01 to 10 mole%, based on the divalent phenol component unit (B) and the intrinsic viscosity ¢?!, determined at 25.degree.C in methylene chloride, of the polycarbonate is 0.4 to 1.0 dl/g and the glass transition temperature (Tg), determined by a differential scanning type calorimeter is 150.degree.C to 300.degree.C.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve the productivity, to realize an oil conversion method wherein the product is liquid at room temperature, to reduce the corrosion of the apparatus by the formed hydrogen halide and to make the method suitable for industry by heat-decomposing a plastic into an oil in the presence of allophane. SOLUTION: Naturally occurring irregularly shaped or hollow-shaped amorphous or cryptocrystalline allophane which is a hydrated silicate mineral of aluminum and represented by the compositional formula: pSiO2 .qAl2 O3 .rH2 O (wherein p:q=(1-2):1) and having a water content as low as 0-20wt.%, desirably 5-13wt.% is used. Because usually available allophane has a water content higher than that, it is dehydrated to a desired water content by heating for 1-50hr at 70-200 deg.C. The plastic being the material to be treated may be a thermoplastic or thermosetting one, desirable e.g. a polymer or copolymer based on a polyolefin. The decomposition temperature is 250-500 deg.C, the reaction time is 0.1min to 5hr, and the amount of the allophane used is 0.1-5wt.% based on the plastic.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advance decomposition reaction of a plastic such as plastic waste which attaches much importance to environment problem at a low temperature in a short time and high productivity by using a small amount of catalyst and liquefy the plastic to liquid-like material capable of ready treating at an ambient temperature in high productivity by pyrolyzing the plastic in the presence of a specific catalyst. SOLUTION: (B) A plastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene is pyrolyzed at 150-600 deg.C in the presence of (A) a catalyst obtained by adding a dealuminated zeolite (e.g. a proton exchange type Y type zeolite) to a solution containing distilled water in an amount of 1-10 times by weight and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid in an amount of 0.1-1 times and allowing the mixture to stand for 10-200hr and dropping 1-3N hydrochloric acid in an amount of 0.5-3 times to the mixture and heating the mixture to 100 deg.C under stirring and stirring the mixture for 1-10hr at the same temperature and separating a solid phase by filtration or centrifugal separation and washing the solid material with water and baking the solid material in air or nitrogen atmosphere at 300-700 deg.C for 1-10hr. Furthermore, the component A is preferably used in an amount of 0.01-20wt.% based on the component B.

CONSTITUTION:Crude bis(p-aminocumyl)benzene compound is crystallized by using a solvent composed of a 7-13C alkylbenzene (e.g. toluene, ethyltoluene, xylene, cumene, trimethylbenzene, diethylbenzene, etc.) or a mixed solvent composed of the above alkylbenzene and a 7-13C aliphatic hydrocarbon (e.g. heptane, octane, nonane, decane, undecane, dodecane, etc.) (the weight ratio of alkylbenzene to aliphatic hydrocarbon is preferably 0.25-5).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently convert plastics into oil by melting the plastics followed by bringing them into contact with a solid acid catalyst to recover plastic stocks. SOLUTION: Plastics including polyolefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene and polystyrene are melted at >=300 deg.C and then brought into contact with a solid acid catalyst such as silica-alumina catalyst like acid clay or active clay at 400-500 deg.C for 0.1min to 5h, thus converting the plastics into oil.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of catalytic activity and efficiently liquefy a mixed plastic by pyrolyzing a mixed plastic containing polyolefin, etc., under specific conditions. SOLUTION: A mixed plastic containing a polyolefin, a polystyrene and/or a nitrogen-containing plastic is introduced into a first pyrolyzing device 2a and heat-treated at 250-500 deg.C to gasify polystyrene and/or a nitrogen-containing plastic and the resultant gas component is separated by gas separators 3a and 3b and a melted material from which the gas component is separated is pyrolyzed in a second pyrolyzing device 2b in the presence of a catalyst such as a silica-alumina-based solid acid catalyst at 350-550 deg.C in a second pyrolyzing device 2b to carry out liquefication of the mixed plastic.
