    Abstract: PURPOSE:To modify a dam into any shape and control both the speed of water flow and the magnitude of a water fall and to control the degree of difficulty of a canoe course for example, by providing the dam for which a plurality of columns are telescopically buried in an artificial or natural river-bed neighboring with each other, in order to be allowed to appear and disappear at will. CONSTITUTION:An area crossing the midway part of an artificial river 10 is set, and an artificial river-bed is formed in this area. A plurality of piston cylinder mechanisms 14 are buried in the artificial river-bed, and dam constructions 16, which comprise constructions for causing the resistance of a flow way, are allowed to appear or disappear, by these piston cylinder mechanisms 14. The dam constructions 16 are formed so that a plurality of columns 26, each of which is mounted on the rod projecting toward the inside of water at the artificial river-bed by following the rise of a piston and is in the shape of a cylinder with a bottom, are placed in a matrix shape. A dam is composed of these columns 26 which are allowed to closely neighbor with each other. When the projecting amount of each of the columns 26 is properly controlled, the shape of the dams constructions 16 can be varied and water falls can be partially produced. In the case of a canoe course, therefore, the degree of difficulty of the course can be controlled.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently produce a hollow metallic ball having high sphericity and uniform shell thickness by executing the heating of a metallic lump and the blowing of gas in a microgravity field. CONSTITUTION:A rocket 2 contg. the complete device for heating, gas blowing, etc., of the metallic lump 1 is dropped by gravity as a free falling object in a microgravity falling column 3. The heating of the metallic lump and the blowing of the gas are executed in the microgravity field formed in the process of the gravity falling to allow the metallic lump to expand. The hollow body 40 of the poor sphericity formed with the permanent set 41 by its own weight of the metal and the part 42 of the nonuniform thickness is obtd. by the effect of the gravity G if the expansion is executed in the gravity field at the time of blowing the gas into the metallic lump to expand the lump. There is no effect of the gravity and the permanent set and the nonuniformity of the thickness are not induced in the microgravity field. The spherical shape is formed only from the relation of the surface tension of the metal and the material strength. The hollow spherical body 40A having the high sphericity and the uniform thickness is produced in this way.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject apparatus suitable for a liquid requiring sterilization by dispersing magnetic substance particles in the liquid to be sterilized in a magnetic substance mixing part, passing the resultant liquid which is to be sterilized and contains the magnetic substance particles dispersed therein through a specific sterilizing part and separating the liquid from the magnetic substance in a solid.liquid separating part. CONSTITUTION:A suspension of magnetic substance particles is mixed with a liquid to be sterilized in a magnetic substance mixing part and the resultant liquid containing the magnetic substance dispersed therein is then passed through a sterilizing part 6 to separate the magnetic substance particles from the liquid in a solid.liquid separating part. The obtained suspension of the magnetic substance particles is subsequently fed to the magnetic substance mixing part. Magnet supports 161 and 162 are arranged near a passage 14 composed of a nonmagnetic substance for the liquid to be sterilized in the sterilizing part 6 and rotated about rotating shafts 18 in a state thereof supporting plural magnets 15. Thereby, flocculation and dispersion of the magnetic substance powder 20 are repeatedly produced by magnetic force.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent welding cracks and heat treatment cracks to produce a welded joint which can be used as the joint of a heat-proof material sufficiently, by adding a prescribed quantity of Ce to the thin plate of IN738 of the Ni base alloy to subject it to electron beam welding. CONSTITUTION:After Ce is added to the thin plate of IN738 of the Ni base alloy, which is developed as a heat-proof material, by the quantity indicated by the expression, a joint is produced by electron beam welding. As the result, by adding a proper quantity of Ce to the weld metal, electron beam welding crack sensitivity can be lowered, and the welding limit heat quantity can be enhanced, and further, reheating crack sensitivity can be lowered. Since welding of IN738 which was impossible conventionally is possible and it can be used as the heat-proof joint, heat- proof parts can be produced easily.

CONSTITUTION:Beams 2 having high energy density such as laser beams are irradiated on the desired part 3 of amorphous metallic foil (or film) 1 to crystallize (or melt) the part 3. The foil 1 is then immersed in an etching soln. 4 to dissolve the crystallized part 3. A hole of the desired shape can be pierced by using hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia or the like as the etching soln. 4 and properly irradiating beams having high energy density.

CONSTITUTION:The mold 1 provided with the intended ruggedness on the mold surface is produced and the amorphous metal 2 is deposited by evaporation on the mold surface of such mold 1. The mold 1 is then dissolved away so that only the amorphous metal 2 sticking to and formed on the mold surface remains. The thin sheet-shaped amorphous metallic member 3 having the ruggedness is thus obtd.

Similar beams are irradiated again on the alloyed part to remelt the part. The composition and/or the thickness of the alloyed layer is regulated by carrying out the remelting operation once or more.
