Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the adhesive being in adhesion at the initial stage, but releasable when needed, and excellent in weatherability, consisting of a graft copolymer made up of, as core component, a synthetic rubber obtained by polymerizing diene monomer, etc., and, as shell component, a vinyl polymer. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive consists of a graft copolymer made up of, as core component, a synthetic rubber (pref. polybutadiene, polyisoprene, styrene- butadiene copolymer or polyacrylic ester rubber) produced by polymerizing a diene monomer (e.g. butadiene, isoprene) and/or unsaturated monomer (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) and, as shell component, a vinyl polymer (e.g. a polymer of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate).

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a powder coating composition comprising a specific (meth) acrylic copolymer, a prescribed curing agent and a specific particle of core/shell structure, excellent in weather resistance, chipping resistance, impact resistance and appearance characteristics, suitable for coating an automobile and a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: This powder coating material composition comprises (A) an acrylic and/or a methacrylic ethylenic unsaturated monomer obtained by copolymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing both a glycidyl group and an unsaturated double bond with an ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing an unsaturated double bond and not glycidyl group, (B) a curing agent selected from a polyfunctional carboxylic acid and its anhydride (preferably a linear condensate anhydride of dodecanedicarboxylic acid or dodecanedioic acid) and (C) a particle of core/shell structure obtained by coating a core having =40 deg.C calculated value of a glass transition temperature and containing no glycidyl group. A graft copolymer comprising polybutadiene rubber, etc., as the core component and a (co)polymer of an alkyl (meth)acrylate as the shell component is preferable as the component C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a powder coating composition having excellent impact resistance, weather resistance, acid resistance, solvent resistance and hardness of coating film, containing an acrylic copolymer prepared by the polymerization of an epoxy group-containing monomer, a polyfunctional carboxylic acid and a specific graft copolymer. CONSTITUTION:This composition contains (A) an acrylic copolymer prepared by polymerizing an epoxy group-containing monomer (e.g. glycidyl methacrylate) and/or a copolymerizable monomer [e.g. methyl (meth)acrylate], (B) a polyfunctional carboxylic acid (e.g. adipic acid or dodecanedioic acid) and (C) a graft copolymer comprising a synthetic rubber obtained by polymerizing a diene monomer (e.g. butadiene or isoprene) and/or an unsaturated monomer (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) as a core component and a vinyl polymer [e.g. a (co)polymer of hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, (meth)acrylic acid or styrene] as a shell component.
