    Abstract: There are here provided an additive for stock feeds containing decomposing products of chicory roots in which the total content of a polysaccharides and inulooligosaccharides of tri- and higher saccharides obtained by decomposing the chicory roots is 40% by weight or more of the total solid content and is 80% by weight or more of the total saccharides; a stock feed containing 0.1 to 10% by weight of the additive for stock feeds; and a process for preparing an additive for stock feeds which comprises the steps of chopping and then heating/drying chicory roots in order to form chicory flakes, and grinding the chicory flakes, and a process for preparing an additive for stock feeds which comprises the step of enzymatically decomposing the chicory roots without extraction step.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an organic liquid fertilizer suitable for the growth of crops compared with conventional fertilizer by decomposing corn steep liquor with a proteinase and compounding the decomposed liquid to a fertilizer salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective organic liquid fertilizer can be produced by decomposing corn steep liquor with a proteinase and compounding the enzymatic decomposition product containing deactivated enzyme to a fertilizer salt. Liquid fertilizer resistant to the generation of microorganism such as mold and having excellent storage stability can be produced by adding >=500ppm of sodium benzoate to the above liquid fertilizer. The amount of the fertilizer salt is preferably 10-100 pts.wt. based on 10 pts.wt. of the decomposition liquid of corn steep liquor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject silage having high acceptability to domestic animal and effective in increasing the quantity of milk, suppressing the generation of harmful microorganisms, at a low cost, by adding an oligosaccharide in addition to lactobacillus to a silage raw material, thereby promoting lactic acid fermentation of the material. CONSTITUTION:The objective silage is produced by adding (A) a silage raw material with (B) lactobacillus as well as (C) an oligosaccharide, thereby promoting lactic acid fermentation of the raw material. The amounts of the components B and C are preferably 0.2-1.0wt.% and 0.5-5.0wt.% based on the component A, respectively, and the number of living microbial cells in the component B is >=10 per 1g of the component A.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a feed additive capable of preventing occurrence of diarrhea in livestock by addition to a livestock feed, by finely cutting the subterranean part of chicory, drying the finely cut chicory while heating, pulverizing the resultant chicory flakes and containing tri- or polysaccharides of inulooligosaccharides and polysaccharides in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:A feed additive, obtained by finely cutting the subterranean part of chicory, drying the finely cut chicory while heating (preferably at 180 deg.C for 12hr), pulverizing the resultant chicory flakes, etc., and containing >=40wt.% total content of tri- or polysaccharides of inulooligosaccharides and polysaccharides based on the total solid content and >=80wt.% content thereof based on the saccharides. The above-mentioned additive in an amount of 0.1-10wt.% is contained to afford the aimed feed, capable of contributing to body weight increase of livestock and improved in feed efficiency.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a plant growth promoting agent composed of an amino acid fermentation liquid produced by culturing an amino acid fermentation bacterial strain in an amino acid fermentation raw material composed mainly of glucose, ammonium chloride and vitamin, and exhibiting extremely excellent growth promoting action to plant. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent is composed of an amino acid fermentation liquid produced by culturing an amino acid fermentation bacterial strain (e.g. Corynebacterium or Bacillus) in an amino acid fermentation raw material composed mainly of glucose, ammonium chloride and vitamin. The growing state of plant treated with the agent is extremely excellent compared with the state of plant grown by the use of conventional simple amino acid liquid or a liquid containing two kinds of amino acids. The plant growth promoting agent may be scattered to the plant singly or as a mixture with fertilizer or carrier, etc., or in the form of a liquid in combination with proper diluent, excipient, suspending agent, emulsifying agent, etc. The amino acid concentration in liquid fertilizer is preferably 2-150ppm, particularly 5-100ppm and especially 10-50ppm.
