    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide powder by bringing a polyimide solution comprising a polyimide having structural units represented by a specific formula and a phenolic solvent into contact with a poor solvent for the polyimide and separating the crystals thus deposited. SOLUTION: A diamine, such as 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)biphenyl, and a tetracarboxylic acid anhydride, such as pyromellitic acid dianhydride and biphenyltetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, are added to a phenolic solvent, such as m-cresol, and the mixture is heated under stirring for a predetemined time. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution is maintained at a temperature above approximately 50 deg.C and below the boiling point of a poor solvent, such as toluene, and the poor solvent is added thereto dropwise in an amount of not less than about 10 times that of the polymer powder and at a rate of addition of not more than 6 times the theoretical yield of the polymer powder per hour. The thus-deposited crystalline powder of a polyimide having structural units of formula I (wherein X is formula II; R1 to R3 are each H, a lower alkyl, phenyl, biphenyl, etc.; Y is formula III) is separated by filtration under pressure and dried in an atmosphere of nitrogen to obtain a polyimide powder.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyolefin resin composition produced by adding a sorbitol-based clearing nucleation agent and a hydantoin compound to a polyolefin resin, having excellent transparency, emitting little odor and useful for food-packaging, etc. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin, (B) 0.01-2 pts.wt. of a sorbitol-based clearing nucleation agent consisting of a sorbitol derivative of preferably the formula I (R and R are each H, a 1-4C saturated aliphatic alkyl, a branched alkyl or a halogen; (m) and (n) are each 1-5) and (C) 0.001-2.0 pts.wt. of a hydantoin compound of preferably the formula II (R and R are each H, an alkyl, an aryl or a cycloalkyl), e.g. hydantoin. The component B is e.g. 1.3,2.4-di-(methylbenzylidene)sorbitol and the composition may further be incorporated with an additive such as antioxidant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the cultivation soil for raising seedlings substantially not injuring the roots of the crop seedlings on the transplantation of the seedlings with machines and permitting to form the root balls having good rooting properties. CONSTITUTION:The cultivation soil for raising the seedlings comprises a soil containing 0.1-1.5wt.% of sodium polyacrylate as a binder. The soil gives seedings having root balls sufficiently strong for the transplantation of the seedlings with a machine without inhibiting the germination of the plants and the growth of the young seedlings. The soil especially does not limit the target plants and is also excellent in the safety.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an organic liquid fertilizer suitable for the growth of crops compared with conventional fertilizer by decomposing corn steep liquor with a proteinase and compounding the decomposed liquid to a fertilizer salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective organic liquid fertilizer can be produced by decomposing corn steep liquor with a proteinase and compounding the enzymatic decomposition product containing deactivated enzyme to a fertilizer salt. Liquid fertilizer resistant to the generation of microorganism such as mold and having excellent storage stability can be produced by adding >=500ppm of sodium benzoate to the above liquid fertilizer. The amount of the fertilizer salt is preferably 10-100 pts.wt. based on 10 pts.wt. of the decomposition liquid of corn steep liquor.
