    Abstract: PURPOSE:To remarkably improve solidification of the subject compound and its flowability in molding process and simultaneously obtain a molded product having excellent hardness by adding a specific glycol derivative and trichlorobenzene to p-dichlorobenzene at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) A glycol derivative (preferably triethyelene glycol, ethylene glycol dibutyl ether, etc.) of the formula [R and R are H, 1-10C aliphatic alkyl, etc.; (n) is 0-2] and (B) trichlorobenzene in a ratio of A/B of 1/10 to 10/1 are added to p-dichlorobenzene(PDCB) so as to provide 0.01-0.5wt.% total amount based on PDCB. As the component (B), e.g. 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, etc., is used. The addition is carried out by adding the additive to PDCB kept in melted state to dissolve PDCB and crystallizing PDCB in flake state.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the coagulation of p-dichlorobenzene useful as an insecticide, etc., to improve the flowability of the p-dichlorobenzene when molded, and further to sufficiently maintain the hardness of the molded product such as tablets by adding a specific compound to the p-dichlorobenzene. CONSTITUTION:p-Dichlorobenzene(PDCB) useful as an insecticide or deodorant for clothing, etc., and further as a raw material for some kinds of polymers is mixed with an ethylene glycol derivative of the formula (R , R are H, 1-10C aliphatic alkyl, 1-10C aliphatic alkyl carbonyl), preferably an ethylene di lower alkyl ether, an ethylene glycol mono lower alkyl ether acetate or an ethylene glycol diacetate in an amount of 0.005-0.5wt.% preferably 0.01-0.3wt.%, based on the PDCB to improve the coagulation prevention, flowability and workability of the PDCB in grinding and tableting processes without deteriorating the quality of the PDCB, while sufficiently maintaining the hardness of the molded product such as tablets.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To accomplish the subject caking prevention leading to improving the fluidity in the forming process for p-dichlorobenzene and the hardness of its processed products by adding a specified amount of a (substituted) phenoxybenzyl alcohol to p-dichlorobenzene. CONSTITUTION:The objective caking prevention can be accomplished by adding (A) 0.005-0.5 (pref. 0.01-0.3)wt.%, based on the p-dichlorobenzene, of a (substituted) phenoxybenzyl alcohol of the formula (R is H or lower alkyl) (pref. m- or p-phenoxybenzyl alcohol) to (B) p-dichlorobenzene.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the coagulation of p-dichlorobenzene and to improve the flowability of the p-dichlorobenzene when molded by treating the p- dichlorobenzene with a ketoalkoxysilane compound. CONSTITUTION:p-Dichlorobenzene (PDCB) known as an insecticide is treated with a compound of the formula (R -R are 1-10C aliphatic alkyl), preferably tetraethoxy, tetrapropoxy, tetrabutoxy, tetraheptyloxy or tetrahexyloxy silane. The compound of the formula is employed in an amount of 0.005-0.5wt.%, preferably 0.01-0.3wt.%, based on the PDCB. A method for treating the PDCB with the compound of the formula includes the addition and fusion of the compound of formula I to the melted PDCB before the flaky product of the PDCB is taken out, the spraying of the compound of formula I on the product of the PDCB not containing dissolved in a recrystallization solvent subsequently by cooling.
