    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield connector device in which an outside shielding shell of a connector device is used in order to lock a terminal module inside in a connector housing. SOLUTION: A shield connector device is composed of a dielectric housing 24 having a module storage cavity 63. A terminal module 38 is inserted in the module storage cavity 63. A conductive shielding shell 52 is disposed to at least a part of the housing. The conductive shielding shell 52 has a locking part 60 which penetrates through the housing and protrude in an engagement location with the terminal module 38 in order to lock the terminal module 38 in the module storage cavity.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector equipped with a new and improved terminal structure in which a terminal having two or more of spring contact arms is inserted into a path using an insertion tool so as to transfer insertion force to the base portion of the terminal to fix the terminal to a housing firmly. SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 is provided with an insulation housing 12 equipped with a terminal receiving path 14 for the insertion of a terminal 16 in an insertion direction A. The terminal 16 comprises first cantilever type spring contact arm 22 protruding to the path 14 in order to engage with proper first facing conductor. An engaging arm 26 is ranged with the spring contact arm 22, and forms an engaging shoulder portion for an insertion tool for thrusting the terminal 16 into the terminal receiving path 14 of the housing 12. Second cantilever type spring contact arm 24 is shifted from the first cantilever type spring contact arm 22 in a lateral direction, is off the progressing route of the insertion tool proceed to the engaging arm 26, and is engaged with a proper second facing conductor.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing electrical terminals and/or a terminal module (36) is disclosed. The method includes the steps of stamping from a sheet of metal material a blank (10) for a plurality of elongated terminals having contact portions (30) at one end and terminal portions (28a,28b) at the other end and joining the terminals by a tie bar (16) intermediate the ends. The contact portions (30) of the respective terminals are separated from each other by the stamping step. The terminal portions (28a,28b) remain joined in the sheet of metal after the stamping step. The blank then is sheared to separate the terminal portions (28a,28b). The tie bar (16) is cut to separate the terminals. In order to form a terminal module (36), a dielectric housing (34) is overmolded about the terminals intermediate the ends thereof, with the tie bar (16) being located outside the housing and removed after the overmolding process.
