    Abstract: A hingeable connector assembly (2,3) includes at least one female terminal (6) mounted in a terminal mounting space (5) formed in a female connector housing (2) and at least one male terminal member (15) mounted in a male connector housing (3). The female terminal (6) has a projection (9) which engages with a hole (18) in the male terminal member (15) when the latter is pushed into engagement with the female terminal to form the hinge. The connectors (2,3) are capable of being connected together at a variety of angles and thereafter rotated with respect to one another to position a component such as a printed circuit board (13) carrying one of the connectors at a desired orientation within a housing (23) carrying the other connector.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a holding device for an electric connector that can be mounted to a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION: This connector is rectangular and has rectangular side parts 16 extending between both end parts 14. To fix a connector to a printed circuit board, at least one holding member 30 is provided. The holding member 30 has an approximately U shaped part that consists of leg parts 32, 34 extending to the length direction of the connector being approximately parallel with the printed circuit board and a bent part 36 combining both leg parts 32, 34 in approximately right angled direction to the printed circuit board. Further, mutually recessed parts 38, 40, 42 are provided at one side of a rectangular side part and receive the U shaped part of the holding member inserted in these recesses from the side direction of one side of the connector. The bottom surface of the bottom leg part 34 is rough and approximately flat to mount on the surface of the printed circuit board, and the bottom part of a recess 40 is opened so as to expose its bottom leg part.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement of board-to-board connection type electric connector which comprises: a terminal housing having terminals laterally arranged and fixed at regular intervals with two contact legs of each terminal exposed from the housing; a connector casing to accommodate the terminal housing loosely; means to hold the underlying printed board in contact with the lower contact legs of the terminals; and means to retain resiliently the overlying printed board in the contact position with upper contact legs of the terminals. Thus, a required electrical connection can be made without soldering numerous small terminals of the connector to printed circuits. Therefore, arrangement of numerous small terminals at narrow intervals will cause no difficulty in making a required electrical connection.
