SOLUTION: This connector for a card is provided with an insulated housing 2 with a plurality of terminals mounted side by side, and a metal shell 3 mounted so as to cover at least a part of the insulated housing 2, and is so structure that a contact piece of each terminal is faced to a card receiving cavity 5 cooperatively formed by the housing 2 and the shell 3 to engage with a contact of the card inserted into the receiving cavity 5. A projecting part 232 formed in the upper surface opposite to the bottom face 25 used as a circuit board mounting surface of the insulated housing 2 is inserted into and locked to an opening 312 formed in a covering plate part 31 of the metal shell 3 in contact with the upper surface to prevent the insulated housing 2 from moving in a surface parallel to the plate part 31 of the metal shell 3.
