Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a method of enabling each positioning of terminals to be arranged at a predetermined pitch by forming the terminals, which are to be placed side by side in an insulating housing, into an integral line via combining strips on a carrier in advance. CONSTITUTION: A group of terminals 2 are formed into an integral line via combining strips 5 on a carrier 4 in advance. A tapered portion 8 is formed at each end of the free ends 6 of the group of terminals 2. Thereby, each position of the terminals 3 correspond to that of the tapered portions 8 so that the displacement along the pitch direction of each terminals 3 is forcibly corrected by means of a taper holding measures having a predetermined pitch P. Thus, the terminals 3 are installed side by side in an insulating housing that composes an electric connector at the predetermined pitch P; thereby, the precision of each pitch P between the terminals can be improved and hence the productivity of the connectors can be enhanced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electric connector by insert-molding in which each terminal of a terminal group is precisely mounted with a predetermined pitche in transverse line. SOLUTION: A molding die for an insulation housing is provided with a rear core capable of setting at least a terminal group 25 and a front core capable of being distantly connected to this rear core and is further provided with a ragged housing part 20 for receiving an engagement piece 3b of each terminal 3 in a main body 7 of the rear core respectively and restraining a pitch P of the terminal group 25. Thus, each terminal 3 is supported by the irregular housing part 20 during molding of the insulation housing so that the terminal does not move.
